problem changing soil

well i have a problem almost every time i changed my soil i seem to damage my babies. can anybody out there to give me a few pointers?

just make sure you get the whole root ball when you transfer, and put it in soil that is similar to the soil it is currently in. then water it good and it should be ok.

let the soil dry before transplanting,and always best to use the same soil in the new pot.this helps plant not to get too stressed out.

yes same soil here. but some (most) of times when i'm all done got new soil in for a strange reason it will start to wilt and bend :( did i break something or hurt it's feelings?

well there is always some shock involved in transplanting. it just depends on how careful you are, how healthy the plant is, etc. do you thoroughly wet the soil so that it's draining heavily from the bottom? When you pack in the soil around the root ball, do you ensure there are no air pockets without soil?

What i did was use a large coffee can after they sprouted.. i know getto huh, but when its time to transplant cut the bottom out and drop rootball into new container...
