Over watering can do it. It can also be genetic or caused by bugs.
If they look limp and 'lifeless' it's probably under watering.

Agree with above ... The most common cause of 'The Claw Leaf' is Over Watering!

P.S - This is a small White Widow with partially Claw Leaves from over watering to the point where it is having problems with Nitrogen def. - I remember the days, this is one of the few pics I still have from back then, we all have to start somewhere to learn this stuff!

Its having that def because its supposed to @ that point in its life cycle. The nitrogen is no longer needed in abundanceAgree with above ... The most common cause of 'The Claw Leaf' is Over Watering!

looks more like the top leaves pictured here day 39 of flower feeding with fox farm tiger bloom and molasses every water (every 5 days in a 5 gallon bucket) an i know about the n def. thanks just wondering if i need to attend to an issue or not i just wanna be done with the first grow its killing me ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Actually it's not ... I had grown this phenotype before that grow a few times, (this time I got carried away with the watering! lol) and those yellow leaves aren't from it being in late flowering ... That plant is in week 4 out of 10 - 10 and a half weeks of flowering and previously it only began getting yellow leaves in it's late 8th week - early 9th week of flowering. Seen as it's a clone of those previously grown phenotypes, I'm 98% sure that it is not late flowering N def. ... It's a 'side effect' of the over watering suffocating the root zone and causing nutrient lockouts/difficulty with various nutrient uptake.

Yea mate. I would of put it down to the same thing if I hadn't had previous experience with the phenotype ... On the bright side, I haven't over-watered since then! Hahaha

what causes the leaves tips to curl down looking like the clawid take pics but its night night time for her i can post pics tomorrow
what these guys are suggesting is not ur problem. the number one cause of the claw look-as if you bend the tip of ur finger down but keep your finger striaght-over fert. you probably shouldnt be nuting with every feed-jees cant believe no one picked this up

Over-Fertilizing causes a 'burn' at the tips of the leaves, this burn progresses from the tip further up the leaf if the problem is left to get worse.

boy oh boy, you can be over fert without getting burnt. very very common. burning usually occurs with high levels of N. high P, K and some micros doesnt always lead to burning. called a hypersensitivity to ferts. coomon to sativas. the first sign of over fert is twisted and distorted new growth and large fans to cause the leaf to remain standing straight out but the tip is curled down like bending ur finger. check ur facts dude
from sticky at top of the forum:
"If you give your plants ammonium based nutrients they may show NH4+ toxicity, which will show a smaller plant growth and lesions that occur on stems and roots, leaf margins that will roll downward. Also the big fan leaves will have “the claw” look. The tips will point down but the leaves will stay up as if when you bend your fingers downwards. Leaves can be twisted when growing… mainly new growths."

and this plant is not just suffering from nitrogen deficiency, otherwise the yellowing would be very uniform, similar to a banana peel and not have remaining green veins. it is suffering from probably Mg and K as well as N, and at this stage of it's life, yield can be reduced. it is correct to let a plant become N deficient but not mg and others as well if u want the best results

that is classic over fert- dark green fans, and those bud sites and surrounding calyx's seem sparse and airy. which can happen when over ferted. just stop nuting everytime and go oevery other or third. doesnt look overwater at all to me

I'm not doubting your ability. You offer some good info.
I like people to prove their skills before I truly trust their judgment. Show us some budshots or something to gain out trust. For me at least, it will make your advice far more appreciated and easier for me to take on board.
If you don't want to post any pics of your grows, that's cool mate, there's nothing you have to prove to me or anyone else, it just helps me to trust peoples opinions more when evidence is presented to show they're as skilled and experienced in reality as they say they are, and not just experienced via book reading and picture viewing.

Book smarts are the best place to start, but they can never beat actual experience based on a foundation of solid research (that's where the book smarts come in), passed that experience with chosen strains and phenotypes is what will bring you greater success. IMO
... Too leafy - Fair judgment - I don't trim my buds anymore, I used to trim thoroughly, now, if I leaf doesn't pull off by hand, it stays on the plant, nothing wrong with trich coated leaves!

Yah, I usuall just throw my plants into the nearest library, and let the books grow em! Books are a good way to obtain information. The worst grower in the world can have the best books, and the best grower may even be illiterate.
