My plant is about 4 weeks old. It seems to be growing at a very slow rate. Older leaves have been turning yellowish and tips eventually turn brown (sorry for the picture quality). I have removed most yellow, brown-tipped leaves.
what i want to know is:
-why are leaves turning brown at the end?
-how to solve problem?
-how often should i water?
-how far away should i keep plan from 22 watt fluorescent light?
HELP GREATLY APRECIATED!!!!

What are you growing it in. It look s like a pH problem. The soil looks too acidic to me but its just a guess.:? Bulb should be fairly close. 2 or 3 inches

Im Using Scotts Premium Potting Soil.
It Has A .07-.o1-.03 Npk Ratio.
Also Started Using 24-8-16 Nutes 2 Days Ago.

Sounds like to much nutes to me yellow leaf tips = nute burn, Lacy could still be right because if ph is off nutes dont get absorbed correctly

really:o

Interesting.

I do think your nutes ratio is a bit much for small seedling or large sprouts like you have there.

Maybe too much water. Do you let the soli dry out in between watering?

Thanks For The Help Guys!
Umm. I Water Every Other Day. I Have Only Used The 24-8-16 Nutes Once, 2 Days Ago. It Seems To B Helping. How Often Do You Guys Think I Should Use The 24-8-16 Nutes, And How Often Should I Water In General?

There really is no watering schedule in my book, like lacy said when the soil dries out is when to water. Every other watering should work fine if you use small amounts like 1/4th strength. But i cant really give you a definative schedule because some plants like more some like less. I think that every other day is to much water though.

Flush the soil with ph'd water, if the yellow isnt to bad the leaf will recover if it is bad it will eventually die but the plant should still be salvageable, hard to say without pics but for sure if you have the same problem i would flush with ph'd water if you are using a 3 gallon pot flush with 9 gallons of water. then let soil dry and start nutes back at 1/4 th strength.

so what do i have to do my plants are only nearly 2 weeks old, i admit i am the most amature of people you will find. i have re potted the plants today with brand new soil as i think ive clogged the soil up (to be fair it was pretty shitty compost) but today i bought decent stuff fingers crossed the plants are going to be alright.when do you start feeding them nutrients as i was told to do it straight away i think i may have overdone it.

You should start using nutes at about 5 nodes or 6- 8 inches in height, always start nutes at 1/4 th strength or less and work your way up to find what the plant likes. The FAQ section on RIU is amaziing you should check it out loads of great information
