Problematic 600w ballast

So I finally got myself a high powered light. This thing is bright! It's like having a mini sunset in my closet hehe
It was one of those bundle packages that comes with the digital ballast, two bulbs (HPS/MH), a timer.... the whole shabang.
Well I noticed a few things about my ballast that could be a problem. First of all this ballast gets hot as TITS! Its not really a problem as of now because it's still somewhat cold outside and I have no heat in the house. Actually it kinda serves as a space heater lol What really worries me is when summer time gets here and it'll be 85 degrees on some days. This thing is producing a lot of heat now, I can't even imagine how hot it'll get on a hot summer day. Is something wrong with this ballast or do they all get this hot?
Also when its on it interferes with almost everything in my room. My 32" TV gets a little fuzzy, really annoying. The wireless mouse/keyboard have almost no range so I have to get them really close to the sensor if I wanna use them. The wireless internet strength goes down which is not too bad but definitely noticeable.
Is there anything I can do to reduce this RF interference?

I know I should of got a Lumatek but the bastards wanted me to pay $40 freight on top of the $20 shipping so I just went with an off-brand ebay light.

Thanks in advance!
And holy crap I write some long paragraphs when I'm high :bigjoint:

Its not magnetic, its digital. It makes zero noise but it'll cook your hand if you hold it on there long enough... maybe something wrong with it? Poor case design?

Just a Chinese knockoff.

That inference would be worrying me. It sounds liket the same issue as when digs first came out. That inference could go throughout the neighborhood and cause them to call their cable company, then they come out with a sensor and find the interference. Kinda scary.

The case on this thing is completely sealed off. No fan, just a heatsink-looking exterior. Yea the interference kinda alarms me a bit, I've heard stories of people knocking out the internet in the zone and the ISP came to their house. I really don't want that, especially because the cable main to the house comes in thru my room first. And my room smells like dank lol

There's a really old lady next door and I'm pretty sure she's not too hardcore about facebooking it all day. I'm kinda worried about the people across the street... Would a ballast really have such a wide radius of interference?
More and more I think I should of gotten the Lumatek but the shipping would of been $60....

More then likely a cheap knockoff ballast from China, electronic ballasts should definatly not be as hot as u describe.
If i was u i would return it and pick up a lumitek one

interference is generally caused by a poor or no ground to the house or facility. is it grounded to a water spicket or an 8 ft copper ground rod?

Lol it says "made in china" right on it. I know its cheap I just didn't imagine the chinese fucking up on a ballast THAT bad. I'm gonna find a fan to put on it and see how well that works. As for the interference, is there anything that can be done to eliminate/reduce it? Maybe a little tinfoil trick or something...?

Is lumetek one of the best ways to go? I ask since i dont know at all. I wouldent deal with ebay myself. Found a place with whole sale prices on equipment i think its free shipping : )

I have 4 600 watt lumateks and no heat barely warm after 18/6 light schedule even. Digitals should not be hot in my experiences.

Lumatek/Galaxy/Nextgen are amongst the top. Pretty dam expensive tho but clearly well worth the money. I wanted to get the 600w switchable Lumatek. Switchable ballasts are so much more useful IMO.
