Professional Growers Thoughts Please

The point of me posting this is to get real, informed information from people who have been doing this for a lot longer than me.

About me: Currently I am living abroad (my home state is Michigan), but I will be moving back there in 10 months (planning is everything). When I come home I am choosing to become a professional grower. Surely, some will read this and hate, if so please exit my post and don't comment. I am not doing this to become a millionaire or cheat the system and ruin it for others. I have more than a qualifying condition, and two family members that I will become a caregiver for. Eventually, I hope to get a max of 5 patients and grow somewhere close to 50-60 plants divided into 4 different cycles.

My concerns:

1-In Michigan I can grow for 5 patients and hold 2.5 ounces per patient. If I am growing the numbers I expect to grow, I will have overages. I am concerned about the proper, most legal, or legitimate way to distribute my overages or to store my overages.

2-Power consumption. I've read pay your bills and your fine. I've read don't consume over a certain amount of electricity and your fine. What is the best rule of thumb for this?

3-Do you have to grow in the same address that you registered with? My thinking was/is to rent a second home and do my growing there. Is this a stupid or inefficient way of approaching the grow?

4-I am missing many things but that is why I am planning ten months in advance. PLan, plan some more and then re-plan. Any advice, things Im missing, or suggestions?

For overages I am sure you "donate" to dispensarys. Then they "donate" back to fund the costly operational bills. . Just as your patients will be donating.

With electricity, When I was a gaming nerd back in college, Me and my buddies ran 3 1200 w computers all with monitors. Then we had the rest of the apartment. No cops ever came knocking, and we had wild crazy parties with endless amounts of cocaine and pot. + I was growing  I had a 600w system growing+ fans.

No you don't have to grow in your home, but I am not too sure how to go about leasing a building and what name to use.

I can suggest alot, but i would not bother cause I am not sure onhow much YOU know, Kinda pointless to type a whole bunch of shit and you already know it...So if you run into any issues, just post again. Take care dude, Happy camping.

BBYY-Thx bro, one question about selling to dispensary. If they are legit, I heard they hand you a tax form. Isn't that potential for someone to come "knocking"? I guess thats why I suggested the separate house...any more thoughts?

If its under 900 dollars isnt it tax exempt? Not sure how it is in MI, look into it. Possibly small sales...? Or maybe it dont work with Good Sales anyways. Just doing some hard thinking with ya.

and about the lawyer, that's your best move. and can you put a price on knowledge of the legal system that you are trying to stay outta? Its what you make it, don't do that appt without any idea of what your trying to do. Have your ?'s written out before hand. Cause you will waste time with small talk or stupid shit, avoid that and get your $$ worth.

also thinking more into the sales part, if your starting your own business and registering it with the state then I am sure you have to claim all $$ worth. But if your a caregiver no reason to start a business out of it, The state don't see it that way to make money. Its not regulated in most states to that extent yet, which is why alot of problems arise from state/federal levels. Get to that lawyer first and kinda understand what your trying to get into, or maybe some CG will chime in soon 'nuf.
Anything related to actual growing I will be a better hand.

BTW is that lawyer reputable? If you go to NORML website and look at the list of lawyers by state and compare prices for consults.

I've talked to some people in Michigan, and its not my belief bc I haven't heard from a lawyer (someone willing to defend it in court or has defended it), but they seem to think by establishing a delivery service that that is the best route. The way I understand it, and I could be wrong, is that you have a delivery service, you could be delivering anything, but the most important thing is (they think) you are paying taxes so in the end why would they want to mess with someone who is paying taxes. All deliveries are "gifted" to and from and according to the law there is nothing wrong with patient to patient exchanges. I want to state again, I am not trying to be a millionaire or someone who sells to anyone. What Im trying to find out is the most legit way to get rid of my overages and keep everything legal and not get fu*ked with by police. I enjoy marijuana....everything about it and I just want to live my lifestyle.

Michigan is a really sketchy place to grow right now. It depends on which county you want to grow in. Oakland county is balls out, busting growers and dispensaries, and other counties are grower friendly. You have to designate where you are going to be growing your plants in Michigan. There are law changes on the way concerrning Michigan: It could go the way of Colorado, meaning a Dispensary Dominate model, or a private grower model, with dispensaries outlawed and free donations only, we will see. Any questions an you can just pm me and ill do my best to answer.
