That was my reason for asking. I knew it contained a buffer but thought maybe the amount added was insufficient. I think I'll be trying it as is for now.

It adds CalMg as it breaks down. It's been my experience ProMix looses it's buffering in early bloom. I've had the same experience with Coco based mediums too. YMMV.

Thanks for the tip! I'll be transplanting twice during this grow so I am hopeful that the addition of fresh medium will help maintain proper buffering. If not, I have some dolomite lime laying around.

I add lime at each transplant. The only real problem I've had is if I top dress with the Espoma, then it kinda cakes up the top and makes watering a PITA sometimes. If you mix it into the soil, you'll be good.

Well, I've got 4 healthy seedlings. Just transplanted them into solo cups with the pm hp. When do you guys start giving nutrients? With rdwc and coco i always make sure I have a little ppm going on even if the plant doesn't need it yet. Would that apply to pm hp or do you all let the seedling live off of its cotyledon and the buffer in the pm for a while?
Also, trying to make a choice on this run and maybe you all could help me decide. My plan was to to run just 1 plant in the 2x2. Was intending on SCROG with however long of a veg it took to train the plant and fill the screen. I always start 3 or 4 seeds for a single plant run and then choose the best to finish at transplant time. But now I'm thinking maybe more plants and a shorter veg time might serve me better. So I can go 3 ways, 1 plant in a SCROG as planned, 2 plants in a SCROG with a shorter veg time and smaller pots (2 or 3 gallons?), or 4 plants in an almost SOG (1 gallon pots I'd assume). What would you guys do and why? I'm leaning towards options 2 or 3, but all suggestions are welcome.

Know I’m late to the party but I use promix hp premium moisture and green leaf nutrients Megacrop with Bud explosion in flower. No ph issues here. My autos are in 2gal pots and 2 in a 2x2x7 closet. Tried 3 last run but a little too crowded for me...

I only grow with promix hp these days. I amend and still use bottle nutes. I only add a few thing though to get em going in veg. Per 30 gal of pro mix HP- I add 1/2 bag of earth worm castings, 5 gals of extra perlite and about 10 tablespoons of terp tea.
If I were you I definitely add extra perlite. I feel promix HP needs it.

Hahah some high porosity. Lol. Honestly not to happy with promix right now, since the pandemic there stuff has been getting worse and worse. Finding legit twigs in there, and they're definitely cheaping on perlite in the mix, also have some type of cork/mulch chip looking things. They were having some not so great batches before the pandemic as well.

Not amending this run, but I definitely added extra perlite. I add extra perlite to almost every medium I use.
