(Summer Grow 214, starting 4 seeds inside, transferring outside june 1st)

I sort of winged the soil mix that I'm starting the seeds in, i'm really unsure in this area but I read some guides, bought some stuff, and mixed it lol. I need 4, 5 gallon pots worth of soil, will this be enough?

This is what I have the photos attached are the exact product I have mixed in, I can add more potting soil if the mix is too high or low in nutes just let me know what works! Im using this mix for both seedling and transplant just to be clear.

I Have mixed, sitting outside moistened on a tarp

1 bail 3.5cu ft Promix Potting Soil
Full medium sized bag of vermiculite
1 3lb bag Blood Meal
1 3lb bag Bone Meal
1 3lb bag Earthworm castings (couldn't find picture online but its the same brand as blood and bone meal)

1.. Is this ok? Should I add more soil or do I need to add more nutes?

2.. Should I add a 3lb bag of Kelp Meal?

3. How much Dolomite Lime should I add to my, mix or 1 bail of Promix, does it keep my soil PH at 7.0?

Thanks guys, I'm going to be going out tomorrow to get kelp meal and lime any feedback would be great!

Try adding 3-4 cups of ground dolomite lime. They sell a 40 lb bag at Lowe's in my area for like 3 or 4 bucks. Also add about 1-2 cups of Epsom salt. That will help prevent calcium and magnesium problems. You can buy lime a 2 or 3 lb bag at Wal-Mart for like 3 bucks! Happy farming!

3-4 cups really that much you think? if you break down subs super soil his calls for 1/4 cup for epson salts and lime

Your pro-mix isn't really soil. it's a peat-moss based product.
Just remember you always need to add lime to that stuff because of the low pH it has.
IMO- running at pH 7.0 is just as good as pH 6.8

This should help you.
Here is a good post on Peat Moss, and mixing it up with different things.
https://www.rollitup.org/t/how-much-dolomite-lime-with-peat-moss.373389/

IMO- I add 1-2 Tablespoons of Dolomite Lime to every gallon of peat moss/Pro-Mix
I don;t mind running at pH 7.0
You could get fussy, and add just a little lime to a gallon and pH test the medium see what the pH is.
Until you get up to pH 6.7-6.8
I would invest in a soil pH tester there really cheap, and come in handy to check the medium.

Don't forget dolomite lime takes at least a week to sort out the ph. Pro mix comes with a lil'bit of lime already. The ph becomes more acidic over time. That's why we add more dolomite when we mix. The ratio top fuel gave you works well for me. I ph to around 6.0 and let the dolo In my mix bring it up. Kinda a swing thing. Been working real good for me.

Hope this helps
Keep 'em green

The biggest differance is if you add soil you are creating a soil mix. Do you want a soil mix or do you want soil or soilless? Do you want to rely on the soil to buffer your ph and supply some nutrition or do you want complete control? A lil bit if soil will not effect much but 50% or more might. You should also add some perlite to lighten things up and allow good root growth with or without the added soil.
