Interested in moving from bottled CO2 to propane burner. I'm thinking about getting a $80 portable water heater on eBay and hooking it to propane. 6x6 area, sealed. I have a few questions that I couldn't find by searching google or here. I may have just missed it. Anyone who has a DIY propane setup, can you let me know how it works and your grow size/how sealed you are?
How often does this usually run? I saw some people talking a few minutes or so. How much propane do these usually burn in your average 6x6 room?
Most importantly, cooling it. How much water does it take to cool this kind of unit? I have water access and a drain in my grow. How many gallons a day does it generally take? I have waste water from my dehumidifier and I could use that if it isn't too much at one time by just putting a pump in the bottom of the dehumidifier. This is probably only a gallon a day and I assume it probably uses considerably more than that. I know you can recirculate it, but I'd just as soon not have a 50 gallon drum of water in my grow area because it isn't very discrete.
Also, how much pollution does it add to the grow room? Do they generally leave black powder all over?
