Proper co2 set up

Hello earlier today i just bought a 20lb co2 tank and a hydrofarm regulator, i have 2 timers also 1 to run the regulator and one for my exhaust fans. I am confused on what setting i am going to want to have my reg on at. I plan on trying to only exhaust for about 3 15 minute periods through the 12 hour cycle. My tent is 6 x 6 x 6 .. ~250 CU. ft. How many times will i want to run it in that 12 hour period?
:wall: :wall: :wall:

Thanks

Very tough to do without a censor/controller. First you have to determine how long and at what setting you have to run it to achieve your desired PPm level. You could then just turn it off and wait, let say an hour before exhausting and doing it ll over again. But it's not efficient, you never really know where you're at PPm wise and it's flying blind. Maybe you run too much, maybe way too little. Who knows? I did one grow with a timer once, it worked... or did it? :D

I'm having the same challenge with my next cabinet design. So far I've come to the conclusion that, without spending major dollars on high-tech controllers, my best bet is going to be using a recycling timer to activate my exhaust for 1 minute every 10 minutes. This way I can be sure that I'm running 90% efficiency at least. Also if your tent is in a small room, the wasted Co2 stays in the room and eventually gets recycled back into the intake of your tent, so you're not really wasting that much Co2. Keep in mind that this formula has 72 minutes of run time per 12/12 compared to 45 minutes with your proposed formula but I think you're going to need to exhaust more often than 3 times per 12/12 to maintain proper humidity and temp. Another option is to control your exhaust fan with a thermostat, which is a little cheaper but you won't have any idea how often it's running and they tend to be kind of janky, turning on for a couple of seconds every couple seconds, irritating.

Im currently trying to figure out ways to implement CO2 for a sealed grow space. (About 8x6x7 feet) Air conditioning is tricky because I have a window unit that puts out some great cooling (5000btu) but also has some warm exhaust.

So in a 6x6x6 tent i have calculated that my optimum flow would be .05 CFpH but my regulator is only from .2-2 CFPH. So do i just round up to .2? i am really confused about this! I have my timer set to go off a half hour before my lights turn on for 2.5 h and then following that i have it going 15 minutes on 15 minutes off, at a flow of .2 CFPH will this be enough or am i better off at running my co2 for shorter times at higher Cf. per hr? I understand that running co2 with out a PPM meter is a shot in the dark but im sure it will do more good than not having any co2 supplementation at all. + REP for some knowledgeable help!

same feild of reading for me. I just got a tank and am going to be buying the hydrofarm regulator set with the selenoid. If I could find the peice that connects the solenoid to the regulator and the peice after for tubes I could save 40 bucks but I cannot and what a headache. lol. I am lazy.

Anyway I used the hydrofarm chart that does it for you and I get a number of .2 for my 4x4x6 tent. I read the instructions and it says when my lights come on to run it for 45 min I think at .2 then after that every 15 min on and off for 15 min until lights off. That means I start with 300 ppm and this formula should keep my tent at 1500.

I just have to go get the hydrofarm which is cheeper on line by far. However I have been blasting my shit with some co2 and wow what a cool frickin thing to see that a few plants actually shot the shit and greened the hell up. Super lemon haze and herijauna loved it the most. PW has shown too. In fact they all were stalled but now wow.

Might just have to run it like this but I would waste a lot of co2 I think. Also I read in urban gardener that they suggest to just blast once a day for 15 minutes and the plants will eat it up. Once a day. Weird. so diferecnt than hydrofarm.

hey this is maybe late but............ 4hydroponics.com has something called a CO2 bucket work GREAT good price 130 w/ shipping Hope that helps

check it out no fumes, burning or any other inconviniance i dont think that is how it is spelled though

Ya so much different information out there i guess i will just play with it... im sure i am gunna be burning co2 pretty fast untill i am able to afford a monitor which wont be too long away... Thanks for the help tho :D i think i might try .2 for about an hr and a half when my tent comes on then every 15 after.
