Proper term for a bowl?

So I'm doing a survey for my research methods class on how marijuana affects motivation. I don't think it generally affects it, but we'll see. :)

My question, however, is this:

Is there a better term to refer to a bowl? I can only think of "How many bowls/marijuana cigarettes do you smoke per month?" but a lot of people would probably get confused by that... Then again those who don't smoke wouldn't answer that question, but still... All help is appreciated

Thanks in advance! :D

I've heard it called a "spoon" but that doesn't really change anything for you, haha. It's just a pipe I guess. Just do it in grams. If they smoke they should be able to tell you in grams.

..and yes , if you smoke constantly it will affect your motivation. I usually try to stay away from it until after work.

Well, the thing is... Sure it makes you sleepy, but like you said if you smoke after work, will it decrease your motivation in general (i.e. the day after smoking, do you feel a lack of motivation?). I personally think there are other factors involved. I really don't think that smoking weed can seriously cause detrimental effects in your day-to-day life from casual use or even use after responsibilities are cleared.

Edit: I also don't think that asking how many grams one smokes a month would be a good idea because some people just smoke like a joint a month, if they smoke every month. I really wish there was a more appropriate way to say "bowl," but I have a feeling there isn't.

hey,
why give an etic description in your query at all? why not just ask something like "how much marijuana do you smoke in a month" and let the querants provide their own emic description (which you'll then provide equivalences for)?
'just a thought...

cheers,
