Propogating for longer than normal

Hi all, I only grow 2 plants per crop and this time i'm going with using a large propogator for as long as possible before succumbing to the grow tent. I'm trying to keep the environment as closed down as possible space and cost wise. I think i've got all the elements in check like temp/humidity/adequate lighting/air exchange and even an bit of co2 - all in a very condensed setup, lol .
Anyway I'm angling for anyone that may have gone down this road and had any experience? Your obviously governed by space and I'm able to provide the same conditions when they move to the tent of course.. I had a big power bill for my grow (just 2 plants) so that's my driver!

For anyone interested I use a propogator that's 60cm long and about 30cm wide (i'm sure there are bigger) that you can keep adding height to with more clear side pieces. .I managed to cut the plastic to let in an air pipe and with a small tower fan keeping air moving the atmosphere in there is great with leaves gently bristling etc. It's great having control of a really small environment for a change, i've also got a little usb fan kicking up the co2 on the floor that i port in from a sugar/yeast bottle. Hopefully they should be good in there for a fair bit longer while i LST them and get them shaped up nicely into a manifold or whatever.

In the pic you can see a couple of monster clones i'm pinning down atm., The other pic just shows my prop in my 4x4, i've got an oil rad below it and it pulses a shot of heat every 30 mins below the prop bed which has moist sand in it,. Anyway i'm loving it so far :-)

Well it's nearly 4 months later now and i'm glad I did this as i'll be continuing to grow this way from now on, i didn't realise micro grow was the appropriate term. I'll do a quick bullet list of the plus points that I wasn't aware of before i started.
  1. done poorly I would be grossing enough from a 4 months grow to easily supply me with 1/4 oz every 2 weeks which is what I used to be buying, done skillfully it can be a lot more than that.
  2. big massive saving on all heating by just keeping this pod btwn 26-29c in the daytime.
  3. C02 piped in from a 20 litre bottle size sugar/yeast reaction lasts 2 weeks at good levels,
  4. it feels like a turbo atmosphere in that space as heat/humidity/co2 and fresh ir are ported in on a timer and you can dial it in really well, of course you can loose it too but that's the fun as well!
  5. MY x2 10000watt spider farmer led panels fit exactly on the roof size of the prop. My girls (in a tent) last year got 45k lumens and did ok with that, the same lights in the roof of the prop = a lot brighter and can rock in the 80k+ region if needed. Bonus I didn't expect was that clear plastic roof is a good barrier to high temps (canopy usualy 27-29) and possibly light burn (I know it's led but still) so i have been going to an inch or two of the lights which i am getting the best lit buds i have ever had.
  6. I'm doing this with just one plant next time with intense LST to keep it low before flipping and from seed as opposed to cloning.
  7. The misses is just about ok with 1 plant in the gaff and that''s quite important!
I might add some pics if there's any interest of the current grow, see what happens. I'm sold though and very happy with this method. ;-)

Got about 18/19 colas, granted they aren't much higher than 6inches but all weighty and very sticky, First time i'd used silicon and glad i did as they are like rigid little palm trees. You can see i stuck a couple of black usb fans cradled by the base of fhe plant and firing upwards. Amazing value as those £4 fans have been on continuously for 4+ months and i suspect might help with the drying process also done in the prop. There's about 6 small fans on the go most of the time, elevated c02 through veg and flower and fresh air in, all making for a rich swirling atmosphere in their average day.

Here's the girls now, looks like bonsai but they've just been lolly popped and thinnd out to keep air flow good thoughout their time. both plants are in coco, and heading for 2 weeks plain water. This will be just one plant next time but hopefully with as much yield as the 2 here if I put the time in with low to the ground LST'ing and some care and attention.

I've heard of people keeping fresh sprouted seeds in the refridgerator that keeps them in a suspended state.

Not sure if it would work with clones.
