Hello: Fellow Tokers:weed:

I am considering starting my first indoor grow,(I have been growing outside, but due to lack of a good direct sunlight and harvest time I want to grow inside) but before I spend the $ I want to know if my propsed setup would be a good one.(good or bad let me know)
I plan to use the Homebox GL80 http://www.buy-the-homebox.com/shop/...mily_gl80.html (its 2'7" x 2'7" x 5'11")

400 WATT HPS+MH DIGITAL GROW LIGHT AIR COOLED HOOD 6IN
http://cgi.ebay.com/400-WATT-HPS-MH-...efaultDomain_0

5 gallon Air Pots (I want to grow in soil)

Is this enought light for my tent?
Should I use a cool tube set up or does it matter?
CFM, I want to use a inline fan for exhaust as well as a carbon filter....how many CFM's should I push
I pan to grow 2-4 plants

Any help would be great, I have always grown (bag seed) but for this indoor grow I am going with Barney Farms LSD (feminized)
Thanks: STLmatt

I think youre on the right track but Ive never grown in a tent. Im always goin with the biggest fan I can get my hands on so keep in mind you'll need more CFM then you would without the filter. Id go at least 400 - 600 cfm on a thermostat. Seems like a good tent for a 400. Others will chime in soon. But trust me on the CFM, more is better for sure, last thing you wanna do is buy a fan thats too small then have to go out and buy another cuz fans are not cheap. GL.

Your on the right track man, just with a hps in a tent it can get hot. Make sure you keep it vented.

go with a cooltube and a 6" 400cfm or larger fan you can always turn it down or put it on a thermostat but buying another because your temps are high sucks you might want cfls for supplemental lighting unless you plan on keeping them short 400s dont have alot of penetration

400 cfm wont do squat, I have a 625 cfm for an intake and its not enough for an intake even. Do yourself a favour and go 800 or bigger.

that cool tube would be to big for your tent. try to find the one that is only 19.5in in length. the one you are looking at is 31.5in in length.

Put the tent in your garage where its colder in the winter and you will draw in cool air and it will keep your tent nice and cool

Thanks for all the info. I think I have a better idea of how to set it up. I found a 400 hps/mh cool-vent hood that has a 5" roof top vent, I can use a small 200cfm inline fan to vent the light and a 6" inline fan w/carbon filter to vent smell/heat. I plan on having this set up in my basement as it stays a cool 60ish degrees all year round. I am going to tie both the light vent and the exhaust vent into my furnace exhaust ......and let it go outside (I really dont have any close neighboros) The tent I am using has a 5" roof vent as well as two 4" side vents at (reflector level) and one 5" bottom intake.

I plan to have the light fan on a timer so it only runs while the light is on.
I assume I can run the exhuast fan w/carbon filter 24/7

I also want to have a small fan inside the tent to circulate air movement when the light is running...or should that also be 24/7???

Question??? Could I also have a few CFL's in the bottom of the tent for lower branch growth, or is that a waste?

Thanks for all the comments, I am hoping to have this set u running by mid sept.

Here is a point of reference, my setup.

400 watt switchable MH/HPS
Sun Systems Air Cooled Hood
4 inch 190 cfm vortex fan pulling thru the light and carbon filter
1 recirculating fan

and 3 X 4 X 7 Plywood box with Mylar

Those are some 3 week old Blue Dreams in tomato cages, around 18 inches high.

Works for me :bigjoint:

Question??? Could I also have a few CFL's in the bottom of the tent for lower branch growth, or is that a waste, if not would I only run those during Veg or change to a CFL more suited for flowering when I change from MH to HPS

I also want to have a small fan inside the tent to circulate air movement and blow on the plants when the light is running...or should I keep that fam on 24/7 as long as the temp inside stays correct?????

Last two questions, Thanks:Stlmatt
