How do I get a proxy server? I read i should use one. Do I need to do this if so how? Please help (nervous)

You can subscribe to one (or more) for a few bucks a month. There are also free ones. I'd be more scared of a free proxy server than anything happening to you here.

Just get TOR, its free and will easily do for general privacy/accessing region restricted content online which im guessing would be the only 2 things you might be looking for
