pruning before flower (side branches)

Hey guys, so I'm just about one week into flower and I've trimmed up the bottoms (about the bottom third) before the flip. I'm just wondering if I should remove the small new branches as well or if I just remove the bottom third and leave the rest alone. I'm under the impression I should remove all of the branches that don't have a chance of growing up into the canopy but I'm not sure if I should leave the new branches at the tops.

The picture is just before pruning after 6 weeks of veg.

What I've found on indoor grows is that lower flower development seems to be dependent on how well you can get your light to penetrate the canopy. If the amount of photons of light your fixture can produce is limited, then I would try to get the plant to concentrate on its upper growth and trim off the lower branching.

Interesting for sure GBauto. Im doing my first grow. Using 630 cmh in coco. Been wondering about what to cut before I flip the lights this coming weekend. Do I prune all branches not within a couple inches of the scrog? I know I take all the little garbage underneath by the base. That includes on my main branches also, correct? I've started an inch or so a week for the past couple weeks just to make sure theres no last minute shock by losing the bottom half of my ladies. Theyre bushy but short due to some mistakes on my part. At 5 weeks of veg, i got about 24 inches of height. Newbs mistakes. 5.5 PH, and temp spikes to 84 once a week from bad ducting securing or placement. Live and learn.20190326_084757.jpg

Definitely leave the new branches up top....you're plant is stretching before flower set. Those branches are going to develop into your colas and buds. Manage the bottom of the canopy, but let your tops go for now. Somewhere around week 3, if you feel you need to trim them up, you'll have a better idea of how things are going to go. Your girls look great; good luck.

Not sure what was meant by stretching before flower set.
Think I'll do some cleaning up on the bottom end, and then go with renfro suggestion on 3rd week lollipop so I dont trim something now that I'll regret later. I'm too new to be able to judge what will and wont produce buds decent enough for keeping. Sound good?
