Pruning main fan leaves

You'll have to forgive my lack of correct terminology, but you know the main fan leaves that grow straight away from the main shaft? The ones that don't grow any seondary branches off it, just one huge main leaf. Is it ok to cut these off? They are completely shading the new branches that are trying to grow long.

I've asked that question several times. I was asking because I had some bad nute burn, but not enough to kill the leaf. Anyway, the answer is usually no, they contain a lot of nutrients that your plant needs. Even mine with small parts of the leaf dead I was told not to cut the off.

move them outta the way, but dont trim them off if they are still green. these are like solar panels for the plant, less panels, less energy. late
