Pruning mother plants

Im looking for advice on pruning my mother plants. I have very healthy white widow, girl scout cookie, and black jack mother plants at 1.5 months from seed. I am hoping to keep these as mothers for a while and it would be ideal for me to keep them on the shorter side. Are there any issues with topping mother plants? Any issues with scrogging a mother plant?

Jack,
Definitely topping is desired and start cutting clones right away. Don't cut more then about 20% at any one cutting though and give the plant recovery time.

Scrogging would complicate things and I just don't see any gains when used with a Momma.

Hi. Top it, this will encourage lower plant shoots. In my opinion, cuttings from the lower portion of the plant turn out best. Don't scrog. scrog is only really beneficial if you intend to flower her. Keep the light as close as possible. That will stop them from stretching too much. Be careful though if using HID's not to burn them. If your able to, I suggest 20/4 with light for mothers. Once she has been topped, I suggest leaving her alone. I would also recommend giving her a 7 day flush prior to taking any cuttings too. Hope this helps. Happy new year. :-)
