Pulled open the rock wool to look for roots. Is this normal?

One of my clone's rock wool cubes was splitting open so I couldn't help myself, I tore it open.

They are 11 days from being cut. I saw no start of root growth. The stem was all white and swollen (underground part). The plant looks normal.

Is that what they should look like before starting to grow roots? Is it rotten?

Thanks in advance.

It was the one on the right.

those will die. sorry man

clones yellow from bottom foliage up when rooting. if you see any damage on the upper portion its dying from either air bubbles or fungus/bacteria

i have seen this happen to my clones

actually after a second look...you may be able to save them. Best you can do is provide plenty of moisture and hope it improves
one of my plants always takes 20 days to root no matter what, while my others take 10-14 days so ya never know when you are working with a new plant

Good luck though! i hope they make it

give them time
from the looks of it,you are using the hard stem portion of the plant, which takes longer to root
mist them with a light nute solution

You have overwatered the cubes causing the dead/dying tips.Give them a few more days and only dampen not saturate. By the way is that your head in the avatar?,bet your a big hit with the ladies ;-)

It does look like your picking your clones wrong. Your best clones come from down low on your plant while it's vegging. You want the new branch. I cut it with about three sets of leaves and imediately put it in water unless you're ready to apply cloning gel. Cut off the lowest set of leaves when you're ready to apply your gel and then fuck rockwool, I go straight into persoaked soil. I keep a humidity dome over them, a heating pad under them, and a 125 watt dual spectrum CFL about nine inches above until I see growth. Works for me.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

Yeah, I only chose the two in the picture from the main stem. I topped those two, so I figured it wouldn't make a difference. The other 7 are from lower branches.

I have been soaking them in that blue bowl when they start getting light weight. I'll let them dry out some more.

Yeah, I have mixed emotions on rock wool. I use it because everything you read says it's the way to go. I have had many veggie gardens and never used rock wool! ha ha

Yeah, that's me in the avatar! ha ha It's bubbles from Trailer Park Boys. If you haven't seen it yet, your entire life has been a waste of time up until the day you watch it!!!!!

TPB is down right one of the funniest shows ever made.

I got my clones to be happy by putting them in a deep plastic tupperware with seran wrap over it with the corners breathing. THey loved it.

OHHHH YEAH!!!!!! Went ahead and pulled it apart again today and guess who has roots!?!?!?

I guess it was just me being impatient again. I definitely need to explore quicker methods, but I'm predicting all my first rounds ladies should root.

The one that has roots is from me topping my blueberry. Everything I've read says the "tops" take the longest so I'm guessing I have roots forming on all the others.

I also took 5 more cuttings and put them directly in soil. I did this because I panicked thinking all my babies might not root. Not really wanting to start from seed again for a while. I'll probably wind up tossing them or giving them to my buddy, but at least I'll be able to see which method works best for me.

Thanks Moash!

I'm almost done with my veg room. Perfect timing with the clones. Just need to finish up a little panda filming, wire up a new 110v and 220v to the breaker box feed, and mount my exhaust fan/charcoal filter.

I bought a 6" sunligh supply "blockbuster" reflector. WHOLLY CRAP that thing is huge!!! 25.5"X25.5" It should be perfect for my 400w hortilux mh and the dimensions of the veg room.

I'll never completely replace my speed bug hobby, but DAMN this is a fun hobby!!!
