Right, i've seen these seeds called 'De Sjamaan White Skunk' (found on seedmadness.com, not seen anywhere else) it says from seed to harvest in 9 weeks. How would i go about doing this? What cycles would i need? It says it isnt an autoflower, so i assume it would need a cycle.

TLDR: 9 wks seed-harvest, what cycles do i use? Or use eyeball?

Any help greatly apricciated, thak you

I guess if you veg it for two weeks you can theoretically harvest in 9 weeks. But the lure of a 9 week harvest is a selling point only and there aren't truth in advertising laws that apply to Seed Houses. So my take on this is the claim is bs and if you want to grow that strain then grow it because you like the strain not because it will harvest sooner.

You would go thru seedlings, vegetative and then flower. Some strains like AK-48 go through the stages fast, but it will depend on how long you want to keep your plant in veg.

I am just starting out, and my main thing is wanting a quick turnaround but good smoke, and something that will handle the stress of a new grower (found some mold/pest resistent strains). Do you happen to have any of your soil based info in the forum for me to have a mooch at? Thanks for the help

How many plants you plan on? Do you have room for a separate clone/veg room and flower room? HOw much can you modify the flowering area?
hose are some other things to think about.

9 weeks from seed is not realistic. Plan on vegging your seedlings under 18/6 0r 24/7 light cycles for at least 30 days before you flip 'em into flower (12/12 light cycle.) THEN from that point, 8 to 9 weeks is about accurate. Now from that point, depending on what you answered to the above questions, you can take clones from the vegging plants and harvest every 8 to 9 weeks thereafter.

this guy couldent of put it better, i am new myself but i am fast learning to slightly ignore there sugested flowering times,, these are only achievable under optimun conditions and for a newbie to get this right isent going to b easy so my take on times is ,,, its done when its done regardless of time frames, i just grew 2 white widows that shud of bin
ready after 8 weeks of flower but it was nearly ten weeks before it was ripe enough to chop them down as i had little problems with ph and feeding that may av stalled them hence y they maybe took another 2 weeks !! Judge them by eye,, look up as many pics as poss of ripe ready bud then u will no when to chop !! But 9 weeks from begining to end is very ambitious to say the least !!! Good look !!!

ME, I prefer Sat doms. Not the easiest for beginners. Also depends on the effects you like. You wanna go out and mow the yard nekid? A Sat is for you. You want something to glue you to the couch and nail yer feet to the floor? Get an Indica. Sats have agonizingly long flowering times also, but MAN it's worth the wait. You might look at White Widow or something like a good hybrid. I have a couple of strains, not commercially available and have been locked into those for so long that I have lost touch with all the nuance strains that are available. I keep it simple.

Out of all the strains I've grown this year I think The Kushes and Diesels were the most forgiving. Tall, dense colas at the top with little side branching. Great high and I get great feedback from people. There was a request for a soil recipe. I tweak my own each grow but it's loosely based on subcool's mix which you can easily find.
My suggestion to OP is do a 12/12 from seed grow if you want quick turnaround and your man for this is Del66666. Tell him I sent ya. Also think about this...Growing is addictive and once you start it's hard to stop.

Dabbled in afghan hindu kush a few years back, virtualy nothimg happened, no real set up just a light. Gave it to a mate to salvage(never seen any if the final product though, he told me it was good though, the bar stuard!). I have a guy to help me, but his way is set in stone, any deviation from the path and he is lost. The seeds seemed too good to be true, heavy yeild, ideal for noobs, quick turn around.@jack - so yourecomend indica for me? Cheers everyone, its all a massive help

If his way is set in stone, then learn his way first, if it works. You gotta start somewhere. Once you're comfy with growing and have a good grasp of the concepts of growing, then you'll be able to judge what might and might not work. Sounds like your buddy doesn't understand the concepts, just follows a recipe. And thats OK, just not very fun IMHO. To me, the fun is in the learning.

Don't just learn that "this way works". Learn WHY it works and what makes it work. You'll be ahead of the game.
