Purple Buds/Orange Hairs?

Hey, I've got some buds from a buddy and I'm curious what gives it it's purple color. I've read that it could be from growing in a cold environment? Or also from chemicals from the grow left in the buds?

they say that codl enviroment does bring out purps but its mostly the pheno of the strain.......doubt very much from the cold.....also you can alta the colour with food colouring but ur bud wld probs taste like crap lool

Yea, I guess what worried me is not only was it purple, but the hairs werent amber/red/brown, but they are like brighter orange...

yea it could be gran daddy purp it usually covered in trichs if it is gdp the purple leaves will be trichs all over them if it dont got alot of crystals it prob sum bull could be late harvest and cold climate but that prob jus some gran daddy purp
