My auto hindu kush is now just over 5 weeks old and has started devolping purple dots on the stems of the fan leaves, more noticeable to the end where the leaves are, what is causing this ?
It is under just over 200w of cfl`s, temp 29-30 degrees, humidity between 20 and 30 during the day when the lights are on . Been fed twice with 1/3 of tomato feed nutes and with water alternated between feed.(once a week)N3 P4 K8.After the next water i was planning to switch to biobizz bio bloom.

tia for any advice.

overall plant and 2 close ups of purpling.

those are the fan leaves not the stem, that is usually natural but if it gets worse its a phosphorous def. did you switch to flower nutes?

So nothing to worry about unless it gets worse? Switching to flowering nutes after the next water , i havent switched yet.

i hear the purple is from over nuting. its the first sign... ... i acutally had a burning problem on one of my plants.. the fan leaf stems were really purple... i flushed hte soil with about 3 gallons of water... the next day the purple is start to leave the stems. i think its too much nutes.. but i could be wrong. ... either way it worked.

agreed this is also Strain Dependent too
My Orange Crushes entire stem-stalk and parts of the fan leaves are purple and striped.. looks like a zebra on lsd...

I have noticed this..... I have a small army of ants (always less then 30 or so.. biting the main stalk and stem and making what looks like suck marks on the stem it heals and makes small almost puss filled pack.. they act very weird too.. I will take a video of it and post it)

a few of mine have that purple streaking going on too.....no ants anymore though.....i used these and it got rid off the ants....or at least subdued them significantly

yeah see thats the odd thing there is no trail of ants just like these are the stoners of the ant world or something.. Really odd.. they are not going too and from just kinda moving slowly... when I blow smoke or wind at them they kinda liven up a bit but dont leave the stem area...

I thought last year it was something to do with my molasses usage but not using it this year and it's only on that purple stem one

Why have so many ants on your plant?

Good tip! I actually didnt know that. My buddy used it on the container I believe or like sticky paper.
Yeah of you do use put painters tape on the stock and apply the Tanglefoot to that.....only apply to "woody" parts of the stock.....never apply to fresh supple growth

Also be careful because ants farm aphids
