My problem is,
My plant was started about four weeks ago before I left for vacation. My buddy was supposed to take care of it for me but he put in under some pine trees wher it could get no sun and it was soaking wet with bad soil, not to mention it was in a pot about 12"X12". SO IT SAT IN ITS OWN WATER FOR WEEKS. I have it in a huge pot and brought it inside replaced the soil with some shultz soil, and bought a flourex 65 watt light about 2" above it. its in a closet about 12'x 4', with a fan, and an carbon filter air cleaner. Im using concentrated shultz plant food 10-15-10 ratio. also the room has been layered with foil. I am now getting purple spots on the main shute and on the leaves. The edges of the leaves are looking dry also. I was told to put the light as close as I can without feeling the heat on the back of my hand. about 3". Any advise? HELP!

hmmm well a few questions, is the plant dry now? Have you ph balanced the water that you are giving it? Do you have any pics? If still using shultz food/nutes are you balancing ph after adding to water? whats the temp and humidity in the closet? you might want to flush a bit and then let her dry out so she can recoup. I hope this works out for you.

Also there are some good people here who can help , but pictures are way better for us.

good luck~

The soil is balanced. the room temp is around 75f and humidity is around 55-70, and I only use bottled water so I shouldnt have ph problems right? The plant isnt dry yet.

yes but the nutrients you add to the water will change ph. or are you feeding in a different way..............

also I would let it just dry a bit and give it time. I hope this all goes well. Keep us posted.
