Purple Wreck 2013

I bought some Purple Wreck seeds a while back, and I gave 1 to a friend that grew it out. I guess he had the trainwreck pheno because it didn't turn purple at all. I didn't really care for the smoke at all. It wasn't very potent and that taste was nothing special. Although I imagine that it could have been grown better. Regardless that Urkel pheno looks freaking awesome! Great job!

I read somewhere that PW often smelled like Fruity Pebbles....I never really thought that was possible. But you even brush one of these leaves and you will smell like a open box of cereal. If you liked that cereal as a kid back when they made REAL sugary cereal, this will make you SMILE like a kid. All of them are ooey goey sticky....I just hope they stay that way after a cure.

Anything is better than the trash peddled around here. Nasty tastes, piss poor smell, and raped of trichs.....pathetic

they look good to me, the dark purple hue on the buds will make for some potent smoke... i think a few more weeks will give them justice

Forgot to mention:

MH 600W in veg
HPS 600W
7 gal airpots (maybe too big for me, just don't have 7 feet of growing room; maybe 5 gal next time)
carbon scrubbed with CANFAN (i.e. freakin perfect) exhausted up and out

Max Temp 74
Max Humidity 50%
Min Temp 64
Min Humidity 35%

I have a day by day time lapse photo journal that is so awesome to watch can't wait to see it complete.

I am using Camera+ to take photos with my blue lens glasses for HPS light viewing pleasure.

5 gallon pots can make pretty huge plants too... maybe try 1 gallon or 3 gallon

How long is it safe to leave mothers in 1 gallon air pots? I have some 5 week 'potential' mothers-to-be (GDP) can I keep them in at least until sex? they are under heavy T5s. and perfect :)

I am not sure exactly why I didn't proceed with just water as I had planned. I kept hearing 'the biggest mistake new growers make is harvesting too early' in my head. And looking at the plants, they were screaming at me for some good nute lovin'. I likely held back too much on nutes.... They have never had more than 1000ppm of any combination. Maybe I should step it up next time. FF Duo.- BudCandy - BlackStrap Molasses

Most of these are of the TW pheno; last pic is a crappy pic of the urkle pheno ...these are just iphone pics sorry

Yes I light burned them but it happened and I am moving on; I wasn't closer than 24" but had some flow restrictions and they got a bit taller slowly on me. My cool temps fooled me that it couldn't happen. But it did... Corrected 5 days ago. So damn; but they will be fine. Once again strike two against me on this grow. These plants i bet are sensational when expertly grown. What really caused the leave burn / crap issue is when I stopped with nutes. Heck I don't know. But I am learning.

Remember for perspective that each picture , the plants are 48" tall. I tried not to replicate any of the main FIM'd stalks in the photos. There are 8 of them on the trainwreck pheno. The urkle did its own thing and said screw you even though it was FIM'd. The time laps pics are pretty entertaining :)

And I had to stake up the main stalk of the trainwreck plant as it fell over under weight of the buds! yeah I did something almost right! It didn't fall over, but it was depending on the tent way too much!

your leaves look more like heat stress than anything in combination of other things
I don't disagree... but one thing is for sure. The first run helps get the kinks worked out of a system. I fought symptoms of the problem (heat build up due to low outflow) for the last three months and then finally figured it out. I was also experiencing some odor issues b/c even though my duct work was extremely short, it was too restrictive on my 6" exhaust fan; I also learned that while it is great to see your tent pull a vacuum, if you don't open up some flow you might have heat issues; clearly I did, even though my CHH4C or whatever it is never read over 82 F the entire grow.

Now, I have my tent flowing well, odor problems are gone and I suspect heating problems gone too. I also wonder if my hot rod HPS bulb may be just too much.

Overall, I know my GDP (next run) will be better, they are looking quite exceptional already in veg.

But, I need some help to salvage what was almost a good run. Maybe time is all I need and keep watering to keep them swelling....

I don't know what else to do at this point. But man I have learned a lot!

And with contact with any bud leaves you will smell Fruity Pebbles... but if you just open and smell the ambient scent, it is overwhelmingly of tea.... you know ground tea leaves. Absolutely wonderful!

I was a little caught off guard today to see some amber trichs... say 2-5%. So what do you guys think? A few more days or a week? I have very little nutes in the system and not worried about excess nitrogen. Honestly it is my first time, but the plants look done. Today is week 8 day 1 since 12/12. They were 7ish weeks old from seed when 12/12 occurred.

Today I pulled off most of the burnt leaves. I realized two things; I have a lot more bud weight than I thought. Way more... And the buds are heavy. And sticky and smelly. The smell of tea leaves is completely overpowering now. You can't get the stink off of you. Dang, not perfect but better than I have ever seen around here. I will be set and no more buying junk for me. Bad on this forum is great around here.

Actually the plants look much better with the dead fan leaves removed. I am going to let them finish the full week 8 now if they will keep improving.
