Yea man, I wasn't saying you are wrong. I was wondering the same thing... Which was better pushing or pulling, and have read countless post on different forums. I'm just saying, in my opinion, that no one has clearly proven the other one wrong. A heated as these argument get, if one side had hard proof that would shut the other side the hell up lol, they would have presented it by now. I haven't seen it though.

Well no one has "hard proof" but the bearings in my fan I'm sure were not built to handle temps of the HID light. The bearings I have now are rated up to 300F. I know for a fact the light gets hotter than that so why would I be dumb enough to pull hot ass air through it? I did and they failed so I learned and changed, haven't had an issue since. IMO that is "proof" enough for me.

If the AC guy that pops up barking would briefly outline his experience, formal education or no, he might have more to say that will sway. I will acknowledge practical working experience any day - if there is enough. A year on the job installing fart fans and listening to the licensed HVAC guys talk does not an expert make.

Yea but everyone on both sides of the fence has obviously had different experiences. mr2shim experienced a burnt bearing with his previous setup and fan at the time, and you had a different experience which hasn't converted you or changed your mind... The way both of you decided to setup works for you, and that all that really matters... That it's working...

A lot of what I post is for the benefit of newer growers or inexperienced buyers. The experienced guys you cannot convince it seems and that is okay. But, if a guy were going onto a battlefield and he had even the slightest idea his fan bearings could fail and that failure meant his death I can guaranfuckingtee it will be pushing the air!!!!!

Here's how I USED to run it years and years ago. It didn't last 2 months before the bearing grease was gone and they were squealing like a stuck pig.

In both setups air is being sucked into the filter. The first pic air is being "pushed" over the light, in the second air is being "pulled" over the light.

Is that a 1000w in a 4x4 tent, or is that a 600w? I just brought 1000w ballast and I have an air cooled hood and a cool tube. I haven't used them yet. Does the way you have it setup now with pushing the air though the cool tube keep your lights pretty cool?

Wow chuck estevez and hotrodharley need to smoke a joint and take some anger management classes lol.. You two got some real issues. Why would any man want to place his foot up another mans behind? That's some real kinky stuff right there... I hope for you wife or girlfriend's sake, that your finger is that only thing that's miniature. Then again, that would explain why your so mad at the world... Ahh, now it all makes since...

well thanks for showing your intelligence. why would anyone turn a phrase?? C'mon, it was in reference to me having small hands. I wear xl gloves and wear a size 12 boot.i'm 6'1. I could palm your pee brain

Dude I didn't turn anything.. You clearly said you wanted to sodomize mr2shim with your foot... I mean to each their own.. I don't judge. If you're into that sort of thing, more power to you.
