Putting hygrometer in the jars

I have a big-ass container, so inside I put a hygrometer (no sensor, the whole thing). I lay it on top of the buds- does this at all throw off the RH reading? I was thinking of taping it to the inside of the lid, but when I screw it off it kept falling off, plus I don't know if the tape interferes at all with the RH reading.

Thoughts???

sounds ok to me, i have done something similar in the past with a humidity meter
dry/cure your buds to your own preference

i dry mine over 7-10 days, i nug them up from the start i do not like it hanging around drying on sticks

i put the buds in plastic bags for about 2-3 days when they are mostly dry and seal the bags and burp the bags, i use the plastic bags at this first stage of the cure as i find it easer to mix the buds around inside the bags rather than being packed in jars
by the time i put them in glass jars they are dry enough to not need turning etc

i let them go through the spongy - crispy cycle , if the buds are too crispy i will not burp them for a few days, if they are too spongy i will leave the jars open for a few hours each day
as long as you keep a close eye on things check it every day during the early stages when its still has some moisture in it, as it could go moldy , you dont need any meter :)

do you mean average cure time ?
they are curing/ in storage in the jars and im always smoking them at the same time from the jars , i like to see how they change over time

i notice some improvement after 1 month then again after 2 months depends on strain, some bud is great without a cure, some bud is still pretty bland after the cure

i keep mine in the spongy state long term, i do not like it being crispy in the jars or it will be too harsh after a few months

i get enough buds out of the jars beforehand in the spongy state that i want to smoke, they will be crumbly crispy dry in an hour or two when left in normal air temps , i find thats the best way for me to store it / cure it long term and keep it fresh tasting

peace

It doesn't matter where the hygrometer sits in the jar.
