Putting plants into light deprivation

So the tric on my plant are just about at the harvest phase and I've been running my plant (big bang auto) pure h2o since tuesday may 5th. I was going to put it into a few days of darkness but the plant still seems to be growing and none of the leaves are discoloring... I was going to wait for discoloration before I put it in the dark for a few days.
