I have. a 3x3x6 tent wit 4 timber 3500 and a china 600 watt and i want to upgrade my purple m.h. to either more cob or just move to a full qb. I just popped 5 more ALF#5 from mandolorian via dc seed bank and I want to make a change in lights before the flip to flower. Any thoughts would be great!
 
A 320-watt system using top-tier diodes will crush a 3x3.
Can you give us some more info on your current lighting setup?
Sound like you're already pushing a lot of power.
 
A mars hydro 600 pulling 290 watts or so and 4 50 watt timber with 3500 cree cob at every corner
 
I have had quite a few great runs

So, you're running 460-watts of blurple and decent cobs in a 3x3 and you think that you need more power?
 
Don’t know if it would be worth the cost to upgrade. If anything I would space out the COBs and replace the Mars unit with some strips to fill in between the COBs. Or pair the COBs with some QB 96’s.
 
I'd say that the cree's might be about 10% less efficient than the lm301's used in qb's.
A single qb(120w) with the cree's or even a pair of qb's with the cree's dimmed.
The biggest gain in light output would be to replace the mars with something more efficient.
