QB96 Elite V2 w/ SSTX heatsink question

I am doing this between job and family needs, so you may get done before me. Look forward to seeing your results. How many 96s are you doing?

I will be doing a side-by-side smackdown grow early next year, as well, eight 288s vs whatever amount of 96s that turn out to be equivalent, with similar co2, Emerson, initiator, and uva-b as the eight 288 grow i am currently doing.

Thanks for hints, i will be measuring intensity and spectrum similarly as mapping mentioned above. The floor won’t reflect with a 4x4 plywood grid in there (plywood will reflect to certain extent as well, but will be consistent across measurements and unlikely enuff to change the conclusions, doing best i can under my time and conditions constraints).

The meter will be flat on the leveled grid, the lights will also be leveled.

(My perspective is as a commercial farmer, not a light engineer...)
Im going to do 2 on a hlg-320h-54a and 4 on a 600h-54 at various wattages. Be interesting to see if there's any difference in our results.

All of mine will be on individual hlg-240h-54As, should max out rated amps (4.2), but still 1/3 short of overall 6.0a max.

The HLG-240H-54A will do close to 5amp with a 54v board on there. I might try that myself.

Good luck with your testing ill post my results too.
Doin this work over on gc, bud of mine running 240-54A, too, he likes to push it..single 96

These lights are very promising from $ value perspective, we’ll have to see how spreads, heat, and growability turn out....

On surface, intensity looking as good/better than a 288, and has red boost (just add a far red, for close to 2:2:1, running lightson plus 5-15 mins for emerson and initiator: hint, hint HLG @Stephenj37826, get a far red companion strip out there; pucks are too f’ing costly if you have more than two 96s).., although somewhat less efficient...

Fyi, spectrum on these should be close to the migro spectrum in this:

Here’s what i’m getting in my current 4x4 grow w eight 288s, four 35s, and a 4’ (28 diode) growbright fr bar:

That last peak is the growbright, one before it and part of main red peak is the qb35s.

Shouldn’t need the 35s with these 96s..,

From a practical standpoint, this is what the 288’s (running ~1050 ppfd across a 4x4) with supplementals above (and 1500ppm co2) can get you w ?nyc diesels? left and super silver hazes right, on day 65 of ?84?:

Front right indica ssh pheno (on pedestal), those are 18” “colas”; had to pull the tops down on the almost 5’ ssh sativa pheno behind it....lol

Lovin those timbers @RainDan...

quick dumb question for @Or_Gro or @diyled

what did you guys use to make the screw holes in the thermal pad? exacto knife? or did you just poke a hole thru or what.
I attached one side to 96, left plastic on other side, drilled out on my countertop drillpress, pulled off plastic on sink side, inserted screws, aligned with sink, and tightened.

I don’t think it’s a problem to put on 96, align, and screw...

The pads are not so sticky that you can’t pull off and redo if you f up.

Thanks, got a description?
Are those lumiled 730nms? How much $ per strip? What are the mini computers in the pics? Looks like you can daisy chain them? What is the driver number?

Why don’t you guys put a description of your product up when you put up the pic? Would sure help your customers..,

It will run multiple strips. It turn on when the lights go out and runs for an adjustable length of time. I'm not sure of maximum input but it works with multiple drivers. @robincnn can tell you more. So this doesn't need a separate timer.

Thx,

Can i run it 12 hrs 15 min per cycle to do emerson during lightson w 96 and beginning lightsout to do initiator, or is “adjustable” shorter time?

What’s logic of 6 diodes versus puck versus 4 on the 35?

Expected price?

Are you guys gonna do a version of 35, w far red on separate circuit so it can run both emerson and initiator?

Once the line is up we will make tons of fun stuff. I'm not sure about the other questions. I'll have to ask.. @robincnn

Stephen, you should really make a thread for this strip! I think a lot of people will be excited about this, especially with the auto-timer. And I love the size of these strips. Easy to fit into any build, large or small.

Be nice if the far reds were made with a number of diodes that fit 2:2:1 ratios with diode quantities that fit a specific hlg red, deep red product, so you could get emerson AND initiator without buying additional lights & plugs.

Seems that specific product is the 96, which has 16 red and 16 deep red, simple math says strip should be 8 fr diodes, unless some engineer wants to go into some deep set of calcs that shows: 16:16:6 is the equivalent of 2:2:1.

If price is close to puck, 2 additional; diodes doesn’t really add much value, 4 would have. Hopefully price is considerably better than $45 and/ or it has some extra and useful functionality, a timer doesn’t do it for me.

Logic puck right?

Was referring to rapidled growmau5 puck:

View attachment 4221922

Gonna add a puck or two per 96 to see what spectrum looks like, with goal of getting similar red spectrum as my post above.

Problem is these things are $45 each, not a cost effective solution for multiple 96s...

after 4 pucks, gonna switch to testing with a growbright 4’, 28 diode bar:

Oh I see. I built my far red initiator for $60. Stevesleds.com had the 730's for dirt cheap then. Might still
