150w of white LEDs and added 660red can definitely do a good job in a 2.5x2.5. The only qualm I've got about these new Mars fixtures is the 1:1 ratio of 3000k:5000k white epistar diodes. There's just a bit too much blue.They are claiming a Mars Hydro TS1000W(actual 150W) quantum board can cover the same area(2.5*2.5) as a viparspectra600(actual 260W) old style. At the same price, $170. That is 58% of the wattage for the same area.
The par chart for the QB looks really good IMO.

no, they run way cooler than a hps. the fixture will take up the most room since the best 315s run the bulb vertically like it was designed by philipsI have never run CMH, but it was my understanding they run a bit hotter than HPS, how tall should the tent be with one 315w CMH do you think?

Thanks for the advice, if Viparspectra is as bad as everyone says, I'm not going to know what to do when I get a good light. I've been running Viparspectra 450 for over 2 years in my 32x32, it's rated for 24x24. I usually boost it with a 50 watt blurp when it is cool enough.that's easy. not the vipar600

Yeah and it makes it hard to follow. I don't know if it is legit going to flower what they say or if they are skimping me on something. That's why I'm having trouble believing I can flower a 32x32 with 150w. If it is legit as good as the Vipar 600 then I would choose it. Not sure with everything going on right now if shipping costs would actually make it more costly or not, but I've been referring everyone interested in these types of lights to just go to the source. The OP is taking about buying a budget light, so let's work with his budget options and suggest something realistic. I don't see why 220watts in a 6 sq/ft space wouldn't be perfectly adequate, and we can find something of quality within budget no doubt.
Again, technically that is true, but in reality a 32x32 tent will have 30x30 internal measurements, and it closer to 6 sq/ft than 7.
