Question about after plating seeds...

So I have previously made a thread about using a cardboard box for my grow and I know its not the best box i could use but its what I have to work with. inside i have car reflectors along with some tinfoil. I have a 5000k bulb and a fluorescent light inside. It is pretty bright. I also have a pretty good fan blowing as well. on with my question.. I cut some water bottles in half and I am using those to seed. There are 15 half water bottles in my box and I just put my germinated seeds in them today. I plan on getting rid of most when I find out if they are female or male. My question is do I leave the light on 24/7 during this phase. and when do I go 12/12 or 18/6 ?

They don't need light until the sprouts emerge. Go 18-6. To determine sex though, you will need to go 12-12 for some time and then rebert back to finish veg.

I rec just veg out, convert to 12-12 and see what happens. If one or both is male, pull them.

Sounds like you will need more light though you didn't specify wattage.

So as of right now, the seeds are in the dirt, they do not need light until the emerge? and to clear it up a little, when they emerge i should go 18/6 right away?

you need to keep those seeds about 80 degrees, what a perfect way of doing it. by leaveing the light on 24 hours a day. unless your on a heat mat. and after they pop out, its best to use 24 hours a day, and after they get bigger can switch two 18, I suggest 24 ! they grow much faster,
