question about air vent

for a set up with 300w hydro grow led light and this inside a grow tent , do i need to add air vents?

i am doing my best to avoid all heat signatures

note: so far total including seeds, i have spent all up 700 dollars, and hence i am trying to avoid spending any more(unless absolutely necessary)
 
Not to mention them cols will heat the tent up more than you think. Get some fans and what about smell? If it matters you will need a carbon scrubber as well
 
to complete your set up you need to spend more, nutes, soil, pots, water, carbon filter to exhaust hot air, inline fan to move air through carbon filter. fans to move stagnant air, ph tester,scissors or pruning shears, and power surge protectorz.. Etc.. Just a few things to perfect your setup to get high quality meds
 
but if you are circulating air wouldnt you have all this heat signature spreading? and recently cops have been busting people by catching them with heat ir thermal imaging from helicopters

I doubt the copters are going to pickup someone running a 300w light.

Probably better to spread/dilute the heat with exhaust and fans than have it concentrated in one spot. Without exhaust you are going to have heat issues in the tent.

ETA: Even with running CFLs my small tent will jump to 90F+ if the exhaust fan is off. I run my exhaust into another room that is between 52-56F (basement). That room temp does not raise more than 4F. No way does that 60F room show up as out of the ordinary on thermal imaging.
 
also do i really need an external fan on top of this one? i wouldnt even know where to put it? it couldnt fit inside the actual tent

also do i need to get two aluminimum air ducts or is just one enough?
 
You will definitely need some fresh air circulation, if not constant than at least a few times a day. Good idea on the exhaust fan but since your reflector isn't sealed or in need of ducting you can save yourself some $, get a more affordable fan. If your tent has round holes for venting you can place a inline duct fan there and secure it in place with zip ties. They start at about $30. Your heat signature for a 400W bulb will not be an issue unless the environment you live in is naturally hot.

There will be some trial and error to figure out the best way to keep your area cool. Try to use what you have before dropping $ and fancy stuff especially if you have a budget to work with. You can always upgrade later.
 
It would be ideal to have a environmental control, temp, CO2, humidity but that is kind of overkill for you. I recommend getting a digital thermometer with humidity reading. Take note of the temps throughout the day, lights on, off, etc. You'll be able to see when cooling or heating is needed most. Hopefully with the addition of a fan you won't need to manually watch over it for very long.

Right, but they're inferior products... That was the point I was trying to make. Sorry I wasn't clear. Don't go cheap on scrubbers or fans. They'll disappoint you in the end.
