Its just like any other solvent as long as you safely remove all of the solvent it is safe. But why use any chemical solvent? You can make better oil without solvents

Any oil, if processed properly, is safe to consume. If you're concerned, use grain alcohol @180 proof. It's food grade, so it's safe to consume. Look up QWET(Quick Wash EThanol).
