At all as I'm a newb, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the flowering times can vary depending on many things. The size of the plant, strain of the plant, and the plants environment. A good rule of thumb is to harvest when the little hairs are 3/4 or 2/3 brown. Again this can vary on many things.

Its not the hairs you need to worry about, it's the trichomes

so lets say i have a plant which is 2 foot tall (auto) and its getting bud nodes and i strip all the plant back apart from all the bud nodes and a few leaves will this continue to grow intill its ready or am i going to have some small plants with small buds?

Ok, I saw your journal...you are getting way ahead of yourself. I assume the diagram picture was how you plan to manipulate the plant...won't work. LST will bring the stem around the top of the medium in a circular pattern. Do not pull leaves off your plants, you are in a very small area with only cfl lighting. Plants get their light through the leaf it is called photosynthesis and without it your plant will die. What is the medium you are using??

Small plants with small buds, oh and instant karma will kick in and the bud will probably be inferior...;)

Most likely assuming you left enough leaves, you would have ONE small late plant with small buds which if outdoors, may be too cold and rainy for you to get any buds without rot.
*****WHY would you strip a plant???????????
