question about getting started

im gonna throw it out there... im a compete newb(as in i know absolutely nothing except what ive read about it in the past 45 mins) at growing so some of this probably doesnt make sense.

im moving into a new apt soon and ive decided that i want to try and grow. i dont want to sell it... i just wanna grow one maybe two plants at a time to smoke off of.

ive been reading up about lights and places to grow... but they all pertain to multiple plants.. is it possible to just to grow a plant and pick a bud off of it and smoke it?

has anyone else grown only one or two plants and do you have any tips?

yes you can grow single plants, or a couple, But you have the greater chance of it being male unless its a clone of a mother or something your starting with (assuming your starting with a random seed) so I would do like 3 at least and hope one turns up female. And yes figuratively speaking you can just pick a bud off and smoke it once it gets ready for harvest but it would be a very harsh smoke and taste like hay, so I strongly recommend drying and curing whatever bud you create before smoking. Well you have to do some kind of "quick dry" method or it will not burn.

I started with 13 plants and only 6 ended up being female, so definatly start with more. and like headshot said you need some kind of drying period to get it to burn.
