Question about gradually rising temp with twin fan controller

Hi all

Ok so i recently got my sms com twin fan controller for my flowering room and i have to say im happy with it... it keeps the noise down at night by running the fans on minimal speed and kind of regulates the temperature...

Now i say this as it seemed to be working spot on for the first few days but now the temps seem to have crept up to about 27 degrees (81F) when i have set the temperature to be maintained at a constant 24 degrees - why is this happening? I was very pleased with it the first few days as it was constant but now its seeming to drift upwards.

My setup is - 130m3/hr intake fan
350m3/hr extractor
osciallting fan
Exhaust air from my grow cupboard is just recycled into my bedroom to save venting to the outside, do you think opening a window would help, is it to do with ambient temperatures? I just dont understand why it was working the other day and not maintaining temps now as it is brand new.

Thanks

Sounds like you are not venting enough exhaust air or your intake air isnt cool enough. Also what is the position of your fan? If its down low and pointing up, your temps will be cooler. If its up high and pointing down, your temps will rise.

This is how it looks...

hi whitewidow i use single control systems one for each fan.
from dialing my own in for differant times of the year using a 4'' rvk running on min, speed wasn't moving enough air and i had unstaible temps. this fan had to run aleast 40% capacity to do the job. but the 6'' rvk will do the same job at min speed.
you may find it easyer to control your temps by taking out the intake fan and use passive intake, it works well for small grow set-ups.
and your fan sat there in the back corner would better pointing more upwards as to move the cooler air from the bottom up this will help to stop the slow build-up temps.

thanks for the advice re: repositioning the oscillating fan

Yeah mine is 5" LVK... im just hoping that 350m3/hr is enough?

So why do you think the temps are creeping up?

ok . 350m3/hr running on min speed will turn over 70m3/hr without the restrictions of filters and ducting.

:bigjoint: in my humble opinion Spike is rite. ur not venting enough. plus with the added components running it adds temp! Dont open the window! dont want to invite pests! especially mites! Up your intake fan for coller air intake, and place ur extractor fan up high with its vent to suck out all that hot air. mine run 24/7 without incident! but i also use central air conditioning, 24/7 also!

you are just boarder line running at its slowest speed without filter or ducting.
give it ago running on the next speed setting and see what you get its all about getting an evevn balance when useing speed controls.
find the slowest speed you can run your fan at to maintain your temps at, and not focus on how low your control will run it.

spike its all automatic it should run fine...

the only thing i can think of is its the ambient temperature in my room thats too high ie not venting well enough or the extractor fan isnt powerfull enough... saying that, like i said - it was running fine a few days ago

FAO spike thanks for the advice about repositioning the oscillating fan to point upwards - it has really made a difference, temps fine now and system running a lot quieter too :)
