question about light

guys i have a question about light. six months ago i grow with 600 hps light and what i get is amazing now i kind of have less space so im thinking of starting a new grow with 250 watt hps what do you guys think am i gonna get much less buds or much smaller is 250 watt worth nothing or what? i afraid of this downgrade im not sure what the result are going to be any input is much appreciated :-P
 
It also depends on technique. 250w has only about 10" of effective light penetration, while your 600w had 20". In order to get the same grams per sq. ft., you need to be stingy with the light-- I would recommend a scrog and get that light as close as you can (vented hood is best). Even with that, getting the same yeild per sq. ft. will be a big challenge.

It is def worth a try with a 250w-- my first grows were cab grows with a 250, and it supplied all I needed.

In certain situations 250 can be better than 600, all depends on your area and possible heat issues. I would say 2 - 3 would be a good number but to get best yield from them scrog as mentioned above would be a good option but again depends on your grow set up.
 
Or, you could go with a 315w Elite Agro T12 metal halide in an open fixture. Indistinguishable from real sunlight to my eyes, gonna be 2 or 3 times as much cost as the 250w HPS though....
 
im not sure about scrog i didnt try it maybe i should but how you bend your main cola when the plant start flowering i even afraid to touch it maybe powder thc will fall

I used to do 4 plants in 3 gallon pots under a Home Depot 250 watt hps bulb. With 3-4 weeks veg, I'd say the average was about 2 oz. per plant.
 
How much yield do you thing I will get off 3 auto pounders and a 400w HPS?

It's a fairly tough plant. You only work bending the plant under the screen while it's stretching, before trichome development.

Check the seedbank section. I have likely really liked Sea of Seeds, but YMMV. The US gov't has been interrupting more shipments lately... :-(

are you looking right at the bulb? and the sun? I think that is not recommended
