If the room is well ventilated does a fan have to be on the 1000 w bulb cooling it down?

I bought a cheap system without the ventilation system/hood.

just ballast and reflector...

Naw. Just make sure you circulate the air in the room real good and exhaust it out.

You do not need to blow air on the light.

K?

You won't have to worry about fires. How big is your room? Make sure you have a strong enough exhaust fan to cool that room.

Whoah!

Fires? What do you mean you are worried about FIRES? Are you running off a power strip? Or plugging into the wall?

A grow room fire can be a real mean mofucker. Shit goes up FAST and burns HOT. Check all yer wiring and plugs.

You do NOT want to be getting skin grafts.

Don't worry bro, just be smart which it sounds like you are being. I once had a problem with my fan timers and realized my sealed air cooled lights had no air going through them. Ac was working its ass off but no fire or even really chance of one. Just hot. Good luck!
