Question about QB Driver draw

hi,

I bought a 2 boards (+ double heatsink + MW 240W driver) combo and since I only have 2 seedlings, I disconnected 1 board but when I cranking the brightness volume all the way the power meter says it draw about 280W

Questions:
1. Is my power meter off? Because there's no way a 240W can draw over 280W!?
2. Will running a single board at max (240W) damage the board?
3. Using same brightness setting, I connect the other board, and 2 boards now draw the same amount of power (as when I use a single board), what happens here?

Cheers

Some meanwell drivers draw more than advertised
Running two lights on a single driver, they share the available current. So ,for example, the single would be at 2amps by itself, two lights would be running at 1 amp each.

Like Corey said, definitely do not want to drive a single board at 240w. When it comes to the drivers, there’s always an electrical loss from input wattage to output wattage. What series of Meanwell driver is it? I know the a HLG 240h 48ab driver has about a 9.3% efficiency loss meaning my wattage meter says max is 263w but the driver is only putting out 240w to the boards. If you look up the Meanwell spec sheet for your driver you can see the efficiency %.

One board shouldnt be run at 240w. However ledgardener tried to destroy a board with a 600w. I recommend seeing the results for yourselves, youtube ledgardener qb torture, its a great watch. No spoiler but they can take a lot more than what you'd think.

Is your driver A version/internal dimming? Then its quite normal it goes up a bit further.

Mine came with an external dimming, the driver is HLG-240H-48AB to be precise
