Question about reusing soil.

Hey all:) I was wondering if it would hurt to reuse soil after one complete grow. I am using foxfarm soil and it seems such a waste to just dump it out in the flowerbed after the girls finish in the bloom room. Would it be possible to flush it really good with water to get rid of all the fertilizer and use it one more time? Anyone have any opinions on reusing soil? Thanks.

actulay if it had no diseases form the last run like pm or other then its got alot of microbial in it that will be a bennefit to use again. if it hadnt been killed of with certain additives.

shit i say u try it, maybe with a couple and see how they do compared, im on my first grow and i might try it. maybe a good flush and try to keep bloom soil seperate from grow soil and maybe add a medium or mix with a fresh bag or two and give a good mix, use it as a filler to the new soil. shit i might take an old empty bag and just add a scoop of new and a scoop of the old and cont. with a shake or two here and there and see whqt it does if u do try to do so let me know how things go,

how oyu gonna keep bloom n veg soil separate?. kinda hard to remove the soil from all them roots at flower and not stress em to hermies. not a good idea to do at flower time.

Farmers reuse their soil every year, so do I. I recycle it through my composter, adding green and brown materials as they become available. After a year I have a rich brown humus, which I freshen with wormcasts and/or horseshit, perlite and lime.

It works a treat.

Recycling your soil isn't the same as just using used soil.You're adding things(like you said) to it.
But thats a good thing because it adds the good bacteria back to the soil.
I'm going to do that same thing for next years grow.

I re used my holes this year(that I grew in last year) with clones compared to a few clones with fresh soil (same strain and size).
I didn't add anything to the used soil like you did.There were no comparison.
The plants in new soil outgrew the used soil by almost twice as much.

This was a big issue(used soil) for me this year because I grew over 50 plants in my used soil.The holes in the ground with this used soil were large.About 30 gallons.I only lime the holes earlier that year.

It would be massive amounts of work to replace all these holes with soil.I'll try to replace about a quarter of this soil with fresh soil for next year.

I think it would be easier for you to amend the soil now then after winter then you should have a good mix by the time you plant again. I mix my soil and cook it every year the old soil in the holes go into veggie garden. dirrtyd

Yeah I PH'd last fall with dolomite lime.
When you say amending the soil,you mean PH'ing it now and adding the fresh soil now?
I was planning on PH'ing this fall and adding the new soil in the spring about 2 months before the grow season starts(about june 1st)
What do you mean ,cooking the soil?
