Question About These Seedlings Leaves?

Hi, just noticed that the color of the leaves are turning to a much brighter green, im keeping the 150hps about 6-7 inches away, box temps 77 with 56%rh, only a small amount of nutes are naturally in the soil mix, have not added any, only watered once when they were germinating in the soil over a week ago.
This may just be a normal looking plant, i just want to verify this is'nt the beginning stages of something. I know in the pic is harder to tell, but you can see the color difference in the leaves and the cotyledons

Looks fine to me. It's a good idea to wait on the nutes for the first 2 weeks. It's hard when their this small, but treat it like a kid. Their tough and will be fine. Good luck, and happy growing.:weed::weed::weed:

Yeah i did'nt plan to give them nutes atleast for a few weeks like you said. I figured i could go a good while since im basically using an organic mix theres just a small bit of nutes already in the soil, should be plenty to sustain the plant for a while. Just looks like they are getting a greenish yellow hue to them which is harder to tell from the pics

i have a little dude right now exactly like that guy planted him a couple days ago. Looks good I have been watering mine more however because I am In bigger pots and my soil seems to drain Good and dry fast. I have had to water him just about once a day.

Well my runoff seemed to drain pretty good when i initially watered it, but testing with the moisture meter, the soil is still pretty wet even after a week..? Is this a bad thing or do i just need to not water it often?

So is this lightening of the leaves normal? or is this something i should be keeping an eye on?
Sorry about the questions, im just a little nervous as ive already killed my first plant and have had to start over..just want to be sure im not heading into problems already

no not a ph problem. it looks like normal growth there are alot of things going on chemically in that little sprout of yours. just keep an eye on it. the color should even out soon. do you have a ph meter or tester

I just have the water tester type thing where you put water in a vial and add some testing drops to it.
I forgot to add some lime to the soil when i originally watered, i'll be adding a bit to the top soil for next time i do water tho to help with the ph balancing.
I think your right, its probably just normal growth, just seemed odd that it was turning that lime green color from the inside of the leaves outwards. When you read on this stuff it all points to N def, but its just a seedling, i know better..shouldnt be having any def issues at this stage, only thing that could do it would be nute overload, and im going organic and haven't added any nutes so obviously its not that either. Im going to go with you and say its just normal growth, maybe even a little to much light for it at this stage. Im going to keep an eye on it tho just in case there is something else going on and the leaves keep getting brighter or turn more yellow as we go.
I havent actually considered this going on as the beginnings of a life threatening situation for the plant or anything, i just wanted to verify that this wasnt the start of something that could snowball into a bigger issue in a few days. Im just learning about all this stuff afterall, safer to ask questions in my opinion

your right better safe than sorry. the first round leaves usually supply the plant with what it need in the beginning (ive been told) so i wouldnt worry about them too much as much as when it grows its first true leaves. your on the right track. just keep it up. may your gardens as well as your thumbs forever be green. peace

What soil are you using? Does it have moisture control crystals in it? If it does then that's why it's taking so long for your soil to dry out, it will be like that as long as you use that soil.

For nutes, im going to try the General Organics line, it comes in a starter kit called the GO box. Supposed to be all organic. The strain is Nirvana's Northern Lights Auto..supposedly from the fixed batch.


Bamfrivet, im using a mix of organic soil, worm castings, vermiculite and perlite. The soil does hold more moisture towards the bottom than im wanting. Im going to be transplanting into Air-Pots, im going to add more perlite to my soil mix when i do this.

yeah the colors come back a bit, but i think the soil held to much moisture around the roots and it got droopy, been that way the last few days, im letting the soil dry out, hopefully it'll perk up in a day or two. Other one, which is about 5 days younger, is catching up fast and looking good and strong. I'll keep updating my journal as the grow, hoping to get some nice buds in a few months
