Question About Transplanting And Pot Sizes

I usually germinate my seeds using the paper towel method and start them in small pots and then transplant them to the larger pots after a couple of months. I was reading in another forum where a grower said it is better to just stick the seeds in the soil using the large pot where the plant is going to finish and not bother transplanting. The reasoning is that by transplanting, the plant will have to take time to recover and therefore take longer to finish. I plan on growing some of Barney Farms fem seeds so I'm thinking of trying this method. Any thoughts or experience on this method?

I think its fine to plant in smaller pots and transplanting as long as you don't get them rootbound..

The only time u really need to worry about planting in the final large pot is when ur dealing with autos...the other times if u take ur time ur plants wont get super stressed out and u will be fine...just my 2 cents...good luck

I'm just curious as to why most growers start them in small pots then transfer to large ones. Since my seeds are feminized, I wont have to wait until they show their sex which is what I've done in the past. Thanks for the replies.
