Question about using compost

The spot I plan on growing has three trees nearby, and was wondering if I mix the compost in now, will the trees use the nutrients before my plants can?

Just in case its relevant, Ill be planting in about 3 months.

Dude, that's a fucking great, funny question. Yes, the Trees will use the nutes available to them, unless you post a sign saying No Sucking, or something to that effect. Organic nutes is cheap and will soften the soil around your area, for better water retention. Getting out the compost 3 months ahead of time puts you way ahead in the game. Be sure to use molasses every week on the compost. It rapids the breakdown in the compost, allowing a better balance of nute intake by the root system. I got some free compost from a friends almond orchard, but I really don't know what type it is. I'll ask him and let you know as soon as I do.

Never seen an Almond tree... That will make good compost, any living plant life, as long as it's not saw dust from plywood & shit. That has all that glue in it. Keep the compost moist, not wet, spray it with some molasses & seaweed, add some microbes, and your set. I'm working on my No Police Allowed signs. I hope they can read.
