Question for stoners living in Washington state and Colorado

I read this article online that it's going to cost more in states where its legal. But I'd rather pay more knowing I'm not getting ripped off. Then having to deal with dealers....they can be sketchy sometimes.
Also you can choose what quality you want and know it's legit. Unlike some dude spraying lemon polish on it and calling it kush....you know??
Nah bud, just no.

Here in CO oz's are ranging from $100-$250 at the mmj dispensaries, and anywhere from $100-$300 on the "caregiver" circuit.

As you probably could have guessed this depends on quality.

I'd imagine the recreational pot shops are going to fall easily within range.

Not like MMJ herb will be 1/2 price trying to exploit the rec users, though quality control is already a MAJOR ISSUE here as far as GROWING.

I've never heard of anyone spray pledge or lemon polish on buds but I have seen facilities spray E-20 an AVID 1wk before take down... Poison is poison...

Also folks lets not be delusional thinking because you are able to buy herb at the store that it's any good!

Most the commercial industry growers are underpaid and under skilled resulting in B grade at best!

Ok there ARE a handful of good facilities growing well but you WILL pay $250/oz for uncured fresh harvest!

Now it has become a popular marketing ploy to advertize "30 day cure"!

Tell me wtf good is a cure when you didn't flush and you grew it following AN's grandmaster wizard magical feed chart but still yielded under 1lb/light!!!

I know mofo's hitting .6lb/light and they still got a job working these large 20-100 light rooms because they're willing to bend over an take $13-$15/hr, FUCKED!

I live in CO. Nothing has changed for me.
If I smoke away from home I keep it very low profile as always.
Vape pen ftw.

Ounces for rec users will depend on the tax vote which I think will pass, sigh. The supply and demand are kind of an unknown. From talking to many dispensary owners, they are growing as much as they can to get ready. I do not see demand driving up prices, even with tourists.

If the taxes pass, rec ounces will most likely be over $200. With a Red Card you can ounces of fire for $200.
A friend just bought a mix ounce all organic soil for $160 tax included. Flo, Aurora Indica, Sour D and Qleaner. In my opinion it was very good (not as good as mine :eyesmoke:) and worth $160.

Though smoking out an about has evolved so much here now that you'll see business men downtown ripping their OIL pens walking down the street!!!
Ooops, sorry for partying. I try to keep it as low profile as possible.
On Friday I vaped in section 122 at the Avalanche game with no issues.

Come January 2014 an where I live in Boulder County, CO the medical marijuana dispensaries will be allowed to legally sell to recreational users too!
The dispensaries will have to convert to recreational. They can keep the dispensary too, I think they need separate entrances.

That is to keep the dirty, dirty, rec users separate from us Red Card holders. ;-)

If you are local and plan on buying more than a couple ounces, you will save money on taxes by getting a Red Card.

Like all good things people with other ideas have to fuck good things up and it may soon be not so legal to smoke in Colorado.
Soon if someone catches a whiff of you blazing your "legal" weed and doesn't like it/you , one call to five-0 just made your "legal" weed illegal.
That is the brain child of our idiot mayor Handcocksucker.

I doubt it will be made into an ordinance. If it is it will only be Denver.
If anyone is actually busted for this at their home a god lawyer would shred it.

They want to make it illegal to smoke weed in your living room if you can be seen from the street.
That is impossible to legislate.

If this is passed, I'll put on a dread lock wig and smoke a giant fatty of harmless tobacco then call the cops on my self. They will kick my door down and not even find weed.

If someone calls the cops because they can smell marijuana, how do the cops determine where the smell came from? Wind can shift, smells can be mistaken - skunks, burning leaves etc.

There is also a law on the books that says that marijuana has to be the police's lowest enforcement priority.

If your house is burglarized or car is stolen and you call the cops, you will be lucky if they show up in an hour or so.

IF that law passes it would be political suicide and it would get shot down in court. You can not make a legal activity illegal like that, especially in your own home.

My neighbor smokes shitty cigars and grills crappy hot dogs all the time. I don't like the smell, second hand tobacco smoke is proven to be dangerous while marijuana smoke is not. I do not have legal recourse because the guy is engaging in legal behavior in his yard. Also, I am an adult and realize that it is no big deal.

Flushing is a waste of time.

how much will an oz cost a rec user? Any ideas?

It looks like it's going to be expensive as fuck in WA but that's not really surprising, they have the highest tax on tobacco of any state and one of the highest on alcohol and really high taxes in general. And they want to ban growing your own. Fuck them! CO looks like it will be much more reasonable but will still be more than medical goes for but they are pretty serious about getting rid of the instate black market so I'd expect it to still be less than east coast street prices.

Generally I agree that flushing is a waste of time but if you're following AN's feed charts you'll need to because those plants will be seriously overfed and need it :D

I've always predicted a ban on growing your own.The road is laid out in that direction

They tried banning grow-your-own tobacco last year up in the midwest. Too many side effects, couldn't do it. Hopefully with the swing of the tide, and responsible growers and consumers in Colorado, the Washington "no grow" nonsense will pass.

How many states are decrim. or legalizing on ballots or petitions this year? Rumor was next year in Minnesota.

Legal growing is in the Colorado Constitution.
They can never take that away from us.

Up yours Obama, weed got more votes than you did in CO.

The laws in Washington suck. At least in Spokane. If you have weed on you, the cop can still bust you for possession. Considering the weed isn't from a licensed state distributor. Which the law clearly states is where the weed must come from. I still keep it SUPER low key and smoking in public is still illegal. Just like you can't walk down the street with a fifth.

Honestly the only difference on my side of the state is when cops pull you over and you have a pipe. They can't do shit, unless you look high as fuck. Then it's DUI time.
