Question for the LED Cob lighting experts---is this a good deal?

You're an idiot, that's why. Just use your eyes and look at where the cables are going... it should be obvious. Shit posts like yours detract from the purpose of the thread, you've contributed nothing meaninfgul. You also seem to fail basic comprehension based on your other posts in this thread, I have nothing more to say to you.

Let's see now other's also where questioning the use of a Meanwell driver. Also please note that I helped answer the question regarding the fan/heatsink issue as well as sorted the answer for the driver and corrected myself. So while you my not find anything meaningful in that information maybe others will.

But by all means thank you for the personal attack!

Yes, he did say that he had been advertising on CL. I know this guy through a friend of a friend.

It's a different approach than the way I built mine. I'll stick with the 140mm passive heatsinks for simplicity, but I'm sure those HSF heatsinks will handle a CMX22/V22/V29 COB just fine. As to mounting, he may be using an adhesive TIM. Not ideal for upgrading but no worries about damaging a failed COB, right? He could pretty them up but it looks like he is doing a good job with quality components. And keep in mind that his market isn't the DIY crew that knows specs as minute as a fly turd. As @linky pointed out, there is close to the cost of components in his build price. For someone who can't (or doesn't want to) DIY it isn't a bad way to go.

This is the way an ADD mind works:
I start to wonder about those fans so I search them out on Amazon. Then I try to model match based on the crappy pics posted. Then I get curious about the rate of thermal transfer so I'm on the Intel site looking for detailed product specs. Annnnnd I'm off running down the rabbit hole before I know it. What a waste of time!

You do realize that the heatsink he is using can cool 95w CPUs and keep the temperature well below 85c in a cpu case? You do realize that each of those chips is running at 50w? Seems to me those Intel HSF will do just fine for the application. In fact, that HSF will handle more heat than 140mmx70mm passive pin cushion heat sink by far. Dont be so quick to knock it. Many of us are using some cheap ass CPU coolers who built long before the pin cushion sinks were readily available. I have a light built 2 years ago that is still running strong with CPU heatsinks.
