HPS, because your yield will be better. MH are okay and grow good buds but overall the HPS is more efficient.

If you have to pick one, go with HPS. Otherwise use MH for veg and HPS for flower.

hps first, then you can splurge on a mh. when the plants are small they don't need that much light. the hps goes a long way for the flowering stage.
you can do a matchbox grow with 4 light strikes from a lighter, or so i was told
these guys aren't being serious because the question you asked is really a matter of opinion and application, its like arguing truck vs car.

I ran my first grow under T-5, my next two grows under HPS...nothing but problems...my fourth grow started stressing two weeks after I put them under HPS. I changed it out for MH and they are LOVING IT. I won't use HPS again. And I don't think the yield or nug denseness was enhanced at all by the HPS. I'm running soil with botanicare.

Why don't you get a MH/HPS combo lamp? It's not much more than just a HPS.
