Question on first smoke of cured harvest

It would've been worth the money to grow the plants until they were fully ripe and smokable vs. harvesting early and ending up with something unsmokeable and wasting months of time and money.
They plain simple were not into this. This even ever happened because I pushed for it to. They tried with me, here we are, they tried without me, they died right about the time they told me they started again.

Never did again. Now they see my stuff, and are considering it. Have not done my first solo harvest yet. Even if they did, me knowing what is demanded, or at least already, they need no more than two plants to perpetuate.

I explained the bare minimal, just water them what I give you for free, I will train it a little and you can learn to do it yourself next time. The rest is startup costs, tent, light, you know, simple shit. Only barely considering it, saying they still might not want to have to water it once and twice a day in flower or have time to.

By “waste of time”, lol. I would not say so, we did have fun but not enough to go again until they either join a forum or let me help which they actually might if they enjoy the seeing the budding as much as I will here soon, full ripe all that. Idk though, if the cost exceeds what they spend on smoke (not much) eh. Me on the other hand lol, I NEED to.

Its all leaf, that’s why it was so harsh, seriously?View attachment 5166140
I peeled all that off to just bud or little bulbs should I say lol. From not enough sunlight or time to swell and ripen? lol What strain takes just after 14 weeks to work on it’s yield. They cannot be sitting at 30F and a space heater at the time just needing to start running 24hrs, 1500w. That should be for a hps light! Good luck convincing to get more supplies. I ran solo, I just was not able to at the time so I was lucky as is.

Maybe it was a male
No, for sure female. No sacs. All female characteristics. They said I harvested soo early, maybe a tiny bit. Wrong, just looked it up, harvest time mid October, this was mid December. So ya, pretty sure it is due to the bad spot of no sunlight just about. As stated though in a nut shell, it was and is a liability to this persons grow I was helping with. It is a liability to them so I cannot do better than this on their behalf unless willing.

Not to me though. But yeah, now knowing that, that is not too bad. As @Herb & Suds said, sounds like it was horribly cured and that is what made this happen. Aside from that, not bad IMO. Space heater only ran until I quit seeing growth and just about when it would of needed be on 24/7 1500w.

Couldn’t convince to buy a socket timer for lights, so.

Plants don't have calendars, it was way too early.

I have to agree, it looks like it was too early. The idea that something says you harvest at this date or X many days are just rules of thumb. Plants will mature faster/slower based on a host of conditions.

Don't worry though, you have learned some valuable insights from that grow nonetheless.

Well not by such a long shot, I would hope. Otherwise you guys are saying it will be that much harder to find my shortest flowering time strain unless I get lucky. Is indoor different? It would make sense because it is more consistent enviorment.

Have you considered autos?

I have some. I am reliving the stress just by posting this setup lol. Though a bit embarrassed if I am just now finding that breeder says 70 days but turned out to be twice that much but if that is true that is dissapointing. Or even mention that it could. Don’t outdoor growers only have one shot?

Like hey growers! come get your seeds for this harvest season, typically mid October or November! But let me not mention your crops will be out to finish maturing dead smack of winter almost! That is cool. **correction, DEAD smack of winter according to a few here. Just checked their site again, no mention of avoiding cold climates.

Marketing is pretty annoying. The only time I personally listen to flowering times is when trading clones with a friend. Outside of that, I'll find out how long a specific plant takes the first time I grow it.
