question please help!

i have a t3 500w halogen shop light, i was thinking of using that with my flourescent light fixture with 2 40 w 3050 high light output tubes do you figure thats too much or do you think i would be better with just the shop light or vice versa since i am on a tight budget!, i would like to make this as cheap as possible any solutions!

Since halogen lights are very hot and dont put out the correct color range for the plants to use i would use the fluorescent tubes, i would probably go to home depot and get some 6500k ones for good veg growth though
