Question. Which Methods of Cloning Are You Guys Using?

I'm sure you're going to get it rooting, one thing I didn't mention is to make sure that your medium is in proper contact with the stem, I see lots of pictures where people haven’t made sure that the stem is actually touching the medium, so make sure there are no gaps.

And good luck.

I have a ez cloner haven't been using it much. Its too loud and I didn't buy a chiller for it. I got tired of switching out frozen water bottles in the reservoir. I made a mini bubble cloner works for me also. Gonna start trying beer bottle cloning on my next go around. I'm gonna try scrog so less plants needed!

Cloning is like drywall ... you got to know when to just walk away! Seriously, it is too simple and is often over-thought and over-complicated.

1. The day before you take cuts soak rockwool in very mild nutrient solution for 24 hours, including Roots Excellurator or similar.
2. Take cuts from bottom of a soon-to-be-fed mother plant. Mother should be healthy. Hold cuttings in a small glass of water with cut ends submerged.
3. Sling water out of each rockwool cube until it's still very wet but not dripping water. Cube should have a small bit of "weight" to it.
4. The hole in rockwool cubes is usually too large, so turn it over and using a toothpick or such poke a smaller hole slightly off-center so it doesn't intersect the "factory" hole.
5. Take your cutting out of the water, dip it into Clonex rooting powder or similar product.
6. Insert cutting gently into rockwool cube.
7. Place rockwool cubes into clean, sanitized tray. You can pack 'em in pretty tight, up to 30 or so in a single tray.
8. Using PLAIN water mist up the inside of the dome pretty good and place it on the tray. Make sure it fits tightly and close the vents completely.
9. Using a cloning heat mat under the tray helps the roots "seek" warmth and speeds the process a bit. Ideally the temps in the domes are slightly LESS than the 78-80f of the heat mat.
10. Place the completed dome under some T-5 florescent lights with bulbs at least 3" above top of dome. Set photo-period to 18 hours on, 6 hours off. Don't set to constant light 24/7, clones need rest too!

11. Now here is where it's like drywall - WALK AWAY! Do not touch the dome for at least 7 days. Don't worry about water, if you've left enough in the cubes when slinging out excess, there will be plenty for the duration. Don't worry about feeding, the plants are busy making roots and cannot "feed" until they attain them. Don't worry about "misting" them, with humidity at 95-98% in the closed dome the clones DO NOT need misting. In short, just don't worry.

12. After 7-10 or even up to 12-14 days with some strains, you WILL have roots. Now you have to gradually "harden up" the babies. Start by opening the vents only for a day or so. After a few days you should be able to take the hood off. Once off the hood doesn't go back on.

13. NOW you can mist them a little bit a few time a day. Don't over mist and drench the plants. Just a light mist is fine. Cannabis prefers a dry climate, not a humid rain-forest.

14. Feed LIGHTLY with Clonex Clone Feed or similar, 150-400 PPM max. Take the cubes and dip them in water, soaking from the bottom once every two days or so. More if you in a very, very dry (15-40%) climate. Less if higher humidity area.

15. Plant the little babies in your medium of choice and enjoy! The grow's up to you now.

Don't worry Miss .. a bit of yellowing on the larger leaves is a GOOD sign. It means the plants are ALIVE and they have developed little root balls (you can't seem 'em yet but they're there). The plants are moving mobile nutrients from the larger fan leaves to the NEW growth in the roots and new branches. Watch for the new growth, you should see small green "sprouts" forming at the tops of the clones now. They may be very small but at this point you're growing a new plant!

I must be doing this DOME thing WRONG....... the pellets are NOT too wet.....

I will leave the VENTS "Open" cozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I. Am. Going. Crazy.

I guess you must have not had enough fresh air, did you keep it totally sealed up or did you have some vents open? And did you replenish the air at least once a day?
Also the yellow leaves is fine as previously pointed out, I bet the yellowing ones don't need a dome now.

Don't worry about the losses, you will get them until you have it down and know what conditions best suite your environment.

Personally use Aero and peat rooters interchangeably with zero issues. 100% rates every time, and could possibly successfully clone a #2 Pencil if I felt so inclined. It's the little things that count when it comes to cloning and rearing seedlings. You have to " be the clone" if you will, and imagine what you would prefer if you were a stem kicking it in any given media, trying to throw out some roots. In short, air is your friend. Most issues of failure will inevitably be traced back to waterlogging the media, opening up the door for countless issues, including the most hellacious offender, Root Rot.

YouTube... I just use pellets, rooting gel, a razor blade, and a dome. After you put the ladies in soil treat them as seedlings. They'll take 2-3 weeks to root (during which they look shitty and yellow) and some weaker ones may die (take stronger cuttings). Once you get a batch through veg you'll have the hang of it. I just started and I've only lost 2 out of 20-25 clones. GL

I ordered Rockwool

they sent Jiffy Pellets

Had no problems

b4 in Rockwool..................

But Jiffy "freakin" Pellets

r gunna get Lobbed out the freaking window (or off a terrace (coz its further)) inna minute!!!!!!!!!

You may have just solved your own problem; I found pellets made from peat to be a bit too acidic to starting seedlings or do cloning in.

I did have a little success with cloning but not as much as with seed / cutting compost from a nursery.

I have amazing result since 10 year simply using Jiffy and 3,59$ rooting powder into dome. They root within 10days when the jiffy are humid but not wet . I have try the Advanced Nutrients 20$ cloning gel the result is similar to the cheap powder.
