Question?

Ive noticed that the bud size and "fluffiness" differs greatly from grower to grower. Some people have nugs that look just like they did off the plant only dry, and some have big huge buds on the plant and then after curing they got a little sucked up bud. I was wondering what is a good technique for keeping the "fluff" and preserve the beauty of the fresh buds? peace:mrgreen:

I kinda believe its in the strain (or lack of proper lighting lol)
Last grow had dense buds exept the Motivation.
She was fluffy an it made her buds look HUGE.

hi there i have two 400W mh lights and was wondering if it could cover a 8'x4' sqr. ft. flowering room in a S.O.G. 32 plants

Thanks...and those buds look fat!!! Im really refering to the curing/drying process. Is it genetics that make is shrink up duing curing? Obviously each bud will be different density. Im wanting to preserve the look of the bud while its still alive as alot of good bud does. Is this still genetics??

Id say yes its gentetic to, cause when they are dried they all look a bit different.
But prob. some technique in ther also?
When i hang dry larger buds they look better, drying on flat surfaces causes a flat spot.

Drying the bud faster can help preserve more of its original look (not using heat). In my experience, good airflow combined with some desiccant can quickly crisp up the buds before they have a chance to shrivel much if at all.

^^^agreed and for about 4 years now, i have been using my xbox fan to flash dry some taste testing nugs over night ^^^^^^^

i use milk jugs, cut the bottom off of them put the buds in so they just hang. No cap but it does preserve smell and size i have yet to have the hay smell. Its all in the slow dry

I found that the buds I grew under flouro tubes turned in to puffy bits of green. no density to them at all upon curing. I upgraded my lights to 2-150 watt HPS for the next grow & the nugs were very dense compared to the flouro grow.

The lighting really makes a huge difference. IMO

Light's distance from the plants is huge, plus their nute feeding schedule, environment, air quality, and watering schedule all can effect the bud density. Also there is something called "noob crazy" where you check on your plants every 4 minutes to see if they grow. this, in a situation where the room is sealed can also affect the growth, due to the time that the doors or door is open that changes the plants environment. Genetics is also key.

First off please don't hijack a thread not cool.
Second, you need HPS lights for flowering. MH will work but you will get scrawny buds.
As far as you question goes, need more info. How big are the containers?
are you going to lollipop them?

eh everyone thanks for the help. However i think im not being understood fully. I have no problem GROWING the buds. They are nice, dense, and everything i want them to be in trees. However, every time i harvested, wether it be from outside, or inside, i notice that the buds really do shrink up. Whenever i buy some really good weed...its allways a perfect uncompressed look. I will take into considration the xbox fan trick. as someone was saying that the faster the bud dries, the more likely it is to shrink up.
