Hello friends. So I've recently been turned onto the itch of trying Jacks 321. Been growing super soil and other types of soil mixes for almost 20 years now.

Long story short, I have 16 seeds soaking and wanted to know when and how much jacks to add after I place the germinated seeds into coco.

I see plenty information on clones to finish but I don't see anything about starting from seed.

Thanks for all the help.

i have never run jacks in coco, but i run about .9 ec on my seedlings in f+d hydro. 1.5 g/gal jacks, 1 g/gal CaNO3, .5 g/gal MgSO4. some people run it full strength from seed to chop, and it seems to work out for them. i like to start them with light feed though

I run Jacks in coco...I will start the seedlings off in a 25% solution for week 1, 50% week 2...then 100% until tapering them off mid to late flower. Good luck friend.

Thanks everyone.

Last, my Jack's seems to be taking its time getting here. But I have some root poking out of the seed in my paper towel.

Should I....
À) grab a bag of.maxiboom and quarter or half strength it
B) she'll be fine over the weekend for a couple days
Ç) grab a cheap of roots organic or a seedling mix to hold me over for a week

Did you buffer your coco, and if so, use what you used for that...but dumb it down. Otherwise, if you're set on Jack's, be patient. The seedling will be fine until the start of the week, just by itself.

Wasn't 100% sure if it was required So i haven't done nothing and seeds are still in the paper towels.

Jack hasn't shipped yet so looking at maybe grabing some veg+bloom or maxibloom or something cheap to hold me over. Thoughts?

If you're going to feed something, be sure it's balanced...you don't need to feed a seedling 'bloom' anything...they need balanced nutrition. Get them out of the paper towels and into their coco. They'll be fine for a couple days without anything. I will warn you though, you really need to look into rinsing and buffering your coco, especially if it hasn't been done by the manufacturer (I find my brand needs it even when the mfr. says it's been done), otherwise your plants will struggle until you fill up the coco with the Mg and Ca it naturally wants. Good luck.

How do you prefer to buffer. I had a license grower tell me he doesn't pre wash his Cor. I'm assuming because Jack's 321 adds cal.and mag to every watering. Thoughts?

I simply make up a 100% feed and run it through the coco until nothing but clear feed comes out the bottom. This can take 3-5 gallons per 1 gallon of medium. Now, note, I use the 'brick' type coco, so I have to go the extra mile in getting it clean. Better brands most likely take less effort, but it is what it is.

Keep in mind my 100% mix is 3g part A / 1.5g CaNi / 1g Epsom per gallon. Anymore CaNi and the plants don't like it...I don't reference ppm's or EC...I reference what my plants are telling me and adjust accordingly. Good luck friend.
