Questions About Watering Using A Drip System

I have a water farm with my plant that is sitting in Rock Wool, i buried the rock wool in clay pellets.( i got the water farm complete check link to see http://www.ehydroponics.com/gh-water-farm-complete-system.html ) i was wondering about when i should water and how long, i have seen post for clay pebbles but none that say if that the rock wool changes anything because it can hold water better then if i transfer from dirt and having a system with no rock wool? I'm generally unsure.

as of now i have it under 18hr of light under a MH bulb 400 watts, im growing from a clone that i picked up from a clinic so its more then likely a week old.

im just trying not to over water, or let it dry out and if i am what are the signs?

If its heavy it has water if it is real light its dry.Your plant will droop if it is too dry.You kinda want it to go from soaked to dry untill the roots get into the hydroton how big of a rockwool cube is it?

im unsure of the actual size but it looks about 6in the closest one that i see that looks about right is this http://www.ehydroponics.com/grodan-hugo-block-6-x-6-x-6.html, also i cant pick up covered in rocks (clay pebbles) or should i move the pebbles to pick up? i spray the plant with some distilled water and the cube just to be sure. hmm in conjuction with my question before. should i add nutes to my spray bottle or just keep plain distilled water?

Can u lift the whole net pot?I use a light mix of clonex soloution to spray with but that is debatable and optional.Do not move the pebbles ,try and lift the net pot if possible you dont want to damage any root growth.did you take the plastic cover off the rockwool cube?

You will not be able to run your waterfarm in the usual manner with a 6" block in it. You will need to have an airstone in the bottom of the bucket running 24/7. you will need another airpump to run the snorkle setup, and put that one on a timer. You can run the pump that top waters your plants for 2 minutes about 4 or 5 times during lites on.

Most folks run their waterfarm pumps 24/7, but they don't use rockwool... they use hydroton.

I use rockwool over a bucket, and it works well for me.
good luck.
